In God Don't Play, trouble comes a woman's way just when she thinks she's finally got it all figured out. Annette Goode couldn't be happier with where she is in life. She has a good job, a comfortable home, and a wonderful husband and daughter. But tough times lie ahead. Out of the blue, Annette begins receiving anonymous hate mail and threatening phone calls. It seems her life isn't as settled as she thought, and demons from her past surface in unexpected ways. Now Annette is forced to question everything from her husband's faithfulness to her lifelong friendships.
God Don't Play delivers the riveting drama that Monroe's fans have come to expect. The story is powerfully told through the narration of acclaimed vocal artist Patricia Floyd.

I enjoyed this book, although I knew the outcome at the beginning. The redeeming factor in a situation like this is the unfolding of the story, and there I think the author did a good job of getting to the obvious. It was a bit drawn out and repetative, but a good book nonetheless. The narrator was annoying, too may "MOUTH" sounds going on, but tolerable.
Avid reader paper, hardcover, listening, e-read. Reading is fundamental! Now let's talk.
This book is a waste of time and money... the reactions to every misfortune were unreal. The fat references were terrible - seems the author thinks fat and ugly are partners. It took all I had to finish hoping the end would . .? Well it didn't...shallow characters, mindless plot. Sorry this is my first negative review which is hurtful for me.
Ok I was intrigued from the beginning story "God Don't Like Ugly" and I really like the Patricia Floyds voice.. BUT THE NASTY JUICY MOUTH SOUNDS AND CONSTANT SWALLOWING during this performance made me question just how badly I wanted to see if Annette was going to figure out whose the mystery person.. I will continue on with the series. But man.. I would love not hearing the NASTY MOUTH SOUNDS .. I would recommend this series, love the story and Rhoda is too wild..
Brings the children of the main characters into the storyline.
Yes, she is a great writer.
When the main character Annette finds out who her stalker is...
The Narrator moves saliva around in her mouth a lot and it is find of distracting it would be great if someone would have edited it out
JUST LIKE THE OTHER TWO CHAPTERS OF THIS BOOK "GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY", AND "GOD STILL DON'T LIKE UGLY" THIS BOOK WAS GREAT I JUST LOVE MARY MONROE!!!
Open. Your. Eyes!!!!
First, get a better narrator. Half of the time she seemed to be smacking on food. Plus all the swallowing and breathing hard made it difficult to concentrate on the storyline. Also, I see the author still has a love for the word sniff/sniffed. Once again it was overused. Oh, and incredulous. These two words were used so many times, I began to think that the author didn't know what other words to use. I do wish Annette had put her foot down sooner. This story seemed to drag on, and on. She turned a blind eye to EVERYTHING Jade did.
None really stood out. I was just happy when everything finally came to light.
I don't know who the editor was, but the pauses between chapters were so long at times, I thought the system stopped!! At other times, before the last word was read, it was being overlapped with the announcement of the next Chapter!!!
