In God Don't Play, trouble comes a woman's way just when she thinks she's finally got it all figured out. Annette Goode couldn't be happier with where she is in life. She has a good job, a comfortable home, and a wonderful husband and daughter. But tough times lie ahead. Out of the blue, Annette begins receiving anonymous hate mail and threatening phone calls. It seems her life isn't as settled as she thought, and demons from her past surface in unexpected ways. Now Annette is forced to question everything from her husband's faithfulness to her lifelong friendships.
God Don't Play delivers the riveting drama that Monroe's fans have come to expect. The story is powerfully told through the narration of acclaimed vocal artist Patricia Floyd.

I enjoyed this book, although I knew the outcome at the beginning. The redeeming factor in a situation like this is the unfolding of the story, and there I think the author did a good job of getting to the obvious. It was a bit drawn out and repetative, but a good book nonetheless. The narrator was annoying, too may "MOUTH" sounds going on, but tolerable.
This book is a waste of time and money... the reactions to every misfortune were unreal. The fat references were terrible - seems the author thinks fat and ugly are partners. It took all I had to finish hoping the end would . .? Well it didn't...shallow characters, mindless plot. Sorry this is my first negative review which is hurtful for me.
JUST LIKE THE OTHER TWO CHAPTERS OF THIS BOOK "GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY", AND "GOD STILL DON'T LIKE UGLY" THIS BOOK WAS GREAT I JUST LOVE MARY MONROE!!!
I don't think anybody would enjoy it more. Maybe a teenager who hasn't experienced much in life yet. It was just too pedictable. I knew who the perpetrator was once she started talking about that backpack.
I like Mary Monroe and enjoy lots of her other books. I would and will listen to her again.
The reader from the first book, Denise Burse, was a better reader. She had more passion and doesn't smack her lips every five seconds like Patricia Floyd. That is so annoying and I had to stop listening several times because it just became too annoying for me to continue.
I like that the characters were still there and that Rhoda and Annette are still friends. I wish that Annette wasn't so gullible and easy to take advantage of. It seems like in the previous book she was a lot stronger character.
Nothing can be changed now the book is already in production.
Love books on tape! It's all about the narrators for me though. No matter how good the story, if the narrator doesn't cut it...
I'm loving the series. Narrator is great, as ususal. Easy listening while at work. Definitely worth the chip.
Getting started with this book was very slow for me. That should have been a clue to stop reading, because some how I could not. When the letters and prank call starts coming, I wanted to know, who is so mean to do something like this. You really want to know what kind of person would really go to this extreme. Thumbs up the narrator, the depiction between the characters voice help a lot in this book. I usually can figure out the ending of a story/book before time. But this one through me. I would have never have guessed that a child so young would do something so devious. I think I was so outdone…..Outdone by the fact that a grown woman would be so intrigue with a best friend child, she would go against the very things she did not want for here own child. The things that she allowed her friends child to do, was just outrageous.
In a way she got what she deserved.
This a good book but not a great book. Good way to pass the time.
