"Monroe is a masterful storyteller." (Philadelphia Inquirer)
If this was meant to be the sequel to the book "God Don't Play," there was no need for a continuation. And Recorded Audio, can you PLEASE find another narrator? I mean, come on, Patricia R. Floyd's voice is so tired and predictable. You can just picture her rolling her neck and eyes while reading the script. It took me about 3 weeks to finish, which is unheard of. It just didn't hold my attention. But I guess if you're looking for a bedtime story, go for it. It definitely induces sleep.
Love books on tape! It's all about the narrators for me though. No matter how good the story, if the narrator doesn't cut it...
I enjoy this series because it passes time for me at work without getting too distracted; however, the book is extremely descriptive and repetitive at times.
Additionally, I was a little disappointed with this story because I felt that the personalities of the main character and her husband was opposite of that in the previous book. It just seemed unlikely to me. I liked that they were in love with each other. In one book they are one way, and then totally opposite in the next. Perhaps if there were a story leading up to the events, the transition would have been easier. I don't want to spoil the ending so I won't say too much except that whatever happened to love and trust and faith?
Overall, still a great listen. I will be getting the next book.
Hope this helps.
RED LIGHT WIVES IS THE 1ST PART TO THIS STORY VERY CONFUSING DONT BUY IT.. THEN THIS HOT MESS OF A INSTEAD OF TALKING TO MY HUSBAND BK LET ME JUMP TO CONCULSION AND PLAY MYSELF! IT WAS OK WAIT FOR A BIG PRICE REDUCTION!
Pee Wee because he stood up to Annette this time.
Yes I have. It's the same
Once again, the authors vocabulary leaves A LOT to be desired. Just like the 1st few books in this series, the overuse of "Incredulous, gasped, and sniff" (or any combination of the word) is very annoying!
I am an Afro American christian and I enjoy literature from Greo audio. I also like self help books and inspirational books and sometimes something funny.
I felt this book was a great depiction of friendship through thick and thin and a reminder that even if you don't get catch in the act, adultery can have unanticipated negative consequences. It was a great story line as well as the voice and intonation drew me in. I could also relate with the weight issue and the desire to leave a secure job to do something she loved even though it required long hours.
When she walked in on the phone call where her lover was talking to his lover and saying that their relationship was a scam for money.
She has a rich low voice and puts the emphasis in the most appropriate places. She also changes the voice for the characters in a way that helps to differentiate between them and give them unique personalities.
If I only knew then what I know now...
I enjoy this author and the narrator.
This is book four in this series. I was unable to find a hard copy in stores, therefore I jumped at the idea to try audible.com. What a wonderful experience, I totally enjoyed this book narrated by Patricia Floyd.
