Publisher's summary

In the second installment of the Glen & Tyler series, the guys find out what happens when you inherit a Scottish castle, tussle with international crime gangs and host formal balls. Yes, balls - with dancing and everything!

In typical Hardy Boys - er, Glen & Tyler fashion, there are secret passages, irascible old men, caves, missing treasure, fine liquor and kilts. Ok, the kilts thing is new - but believe me, you'll like 'em. Although there isn't much hockey this time around, there is shinty. There's also some romantic anniversary thing, but really, stay for the shinty.

For those readers unfamiliar with the ancient sport of shinty, think hockey played on a field, without protective gear and with a solid rugby sensibility. Or a riot with sticks and a score keeper.

Even better than the first!

I don't know why all the MM book groups I'm in haven't mentioned these books, but they are fantastic! Funny, well researched, interesting mysteries with several plot twists.
Glen and Tyler are very likable. Though their "goodness" is over the top, it's just the kind of escape I need during these troubling political times. I kinda wish they were actually real.

Amazing narration, fun story

I agree with other reviewers. The first book was really good, and this one is better. The story is engaging, and surprising, and wonderfully entertaining. But really, the narrator Brian Rollins is incredible. I have both the kindle versions and the audible ones and at times a funny situation made me laugh out loud (on the street, where people look at you as if you have a conversation with the voices in your head) because his narration captures it so brilliantly. Really highly recommended. The stories are all about love and friendship and good against evil. I listened to both stories twice in short succession, and the second time was better because I could pay attention to nuances instead of capturing the whole story.

Altogether, great listen. I hope there will me more from this narrator, and the third book will be produced as audiobook soon also.

LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

Would you listen to Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles again? Why?

I might, these guys make me totally LOL!!!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really...but it was still fun!

Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?

I love Glen!!!

Who was the most memorable character of Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles and why?

It would have to be Tyler....he is the whole book really, and I didnt like him as much in this one...he seemed....Arrogant at times...and not very believable some times...

Any additional comments?

I like these guys, but Tyler has gotten kind of a big head, even if he does a lot of good too...I still love my Glen, and thought this book was super fun, if not over the top at times...these guys are like Gay Playboy Mystery solvers....lol I do believe this book could have been condensed a bit, sometimes less is more...its not as sweet as the first one...but that's ok...and I probably will continue the series, because they just make me laugh with all the hi-jinks they get into!!!

More Glen and Tyler - Yay!

What made the experience of listening to Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles the most enjoyable?

I love the way that every one that deserves something good gets something good and that the bad guys get their comeuppance. Glen and Tyler are awesome characters and I would love to have friends like them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles?

I like the fact that they helped Mary and Effie when they had nowhere to turn.

Have you listened to any of Brian Rollins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. The first Glen and Tyler book. It's just as good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

See above.

Any additional comments?

Hurry up with the next one!

Glen and Tyler are back at it!

Would you consider the audio edition of Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles to be better than the print version?

Having not read the print version I really can't answer this. I will say, however, that Brian Rollins hits another one out of the park with this narration. He brings each character to life with both enthusiasm and charm. His accents are great and he makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles?

I can't pick just one moment. What I love best about these books are the fact that they are about a couple in love. You can see that in their actions towards each other.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Glen meets Donald in the bar ... very funny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At over 9 hours in length, listening to this in one sitting would be a challenge. I'd say break it up in to smaller sections and listen to it over a long weekend.

Any additional comments?

Glen and Tyler's Scottish Troubles is the latest in the Glen and Tyler series. Glen and Tyler have gotten married so that Tyler can inherit his trust at age 25. Little do they know that the trust will make Tyler the 4th richest man in the world. Using their new found wealth, Glen and Tyler set out to help those who have been wronged. This time they travel to Scotland where Tyler has a castle. (Of course he has a castle!). The land manager that was running the local estates is not a nice man and Glen and Tyler are there to help out the locals. This also means that Glen and Tyler are in for some adventures including some old fisherman, dancing and a Russian gang. Will they come out of it in one piece? You will have to listen to find out!

Great Sequel

Any additional comments?

At least as terrific as the first book. Great example of a creative, witty, playful spirit !
The narrator did his part to create another masterpiece! I still wonder how he does all those different accents and dialects. Looking forward to the next book.

Spot on and such good fun!

What did you love best about Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles?

I loved everything about the story and the performance. I fell in love with Glen and Tyler when I listened to the first book, Glen and Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure, and was excited to see number 2 in audio. Brian Rollins is as good a narrator as I have heard. His facility with accents is flawless and always consistent as the characters recur in the story. His pacing and timing are also great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Glen & Tyler's Scottish Troubles?

I love the twists and turns in a Glen and Tyler story. You know they will always come out on top but how they get there - oh, my. Sometimes I just shake my head.

Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?

All the Scottish characters were great. I am of Scottish ancestry and have spent time there and could close my eyes and believe I was in the Highlands.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, too long for that. I had a couple of road trips for work and got through the book in over three days.

Any additional comments?

I am reading Glen and Tyler book 3 now on Kindle and will definitely also get it on audio as well. Sure hope that is in the works!

Second book even better than the First!

I didn't think that the second book could be as fun and quirky as the first but JB Sanders hit another home run! Great character development, fun story, and a little bit of a travelog throw in!
