    "want more"

Light fun read, almost like anime with the dust bunnies. If you enjoyed this author she also writes as Amanda Quick and Jayne Ann Krentz but audible didn't bother to link her books

"Don't Change a Narrator in the Middle of a series"
What did you like best about Ghost Hunter? What did you like least?

I greatly enjoy all the series that Mrs. Krentz writes and this book does a wonderful job of continuing the story in Harmony, while still connecting the characters from previous books.

What other book might you compare Ghost Hunter to and why?

Really the only books I can compare it to are the others in the series. I have not read much futuristic material but I greatly enjoyed this one.

What didn’t you like about Laural Merlington’s performance?

This was the major problem with the story. If you are listening to a series in order and then the narrator is changed, it is difficult to stay comfortable with the characters. They do not have the same feel to them and the new characters seem out of sync. I am not saying the narrator did a bad job but if there was a problem getting Joyce Beam then you should have waited until she was available or something.

Could you see Ghost Hunter being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I could see this being made into a movie but I think you could write a screen play using maybe the first two books for one movie. As far as the actors go. I would say it would be better to use unknowns then well established actors and actresses. You need hot, athletic and driven actors/actresses for this, not those that are doing the job just to get paid.

    "Blue Ghost Story"
Who was the most memorable character of Ghost Hunter and why?

The dust bunnies are the most memorable.

    Any additional comments?

I have been listing to the series and this follows the series and leads you through Harmony. If you just listen to one story you do not get the whole of the world of harmony. Each story leads you to a different part. And the different personalities of the dust bunnies who really make the story.

    "good story, poor narration"
What did you like best about Ghost Hunter? What did you like least?

The story is a nice continuation of the series and when I read the book I was very pleased with the characters. Unfortunately, the same characters in the audiobook were portrayed as whining soap opera actors. It made the book very hard to listen to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked both the hero and heroine in theory. When reading their conversations, they came off as having a fun bantering quality between them that I enjoyed.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators interpretation of all of the characters, but especially the heroine, came off as snarky, immature, and whiny. What should have been a fun story became irritating and tedious.

Did Ghost Hunter inspire you to do anything?

Avoid more books by this narrator.

    Story
    "great book, terrible narration"
What would have made Ghost Hunter better?

    A different narrator.

What didn’t you like about Laural Merlington’s performance?

Her female voice was always a low, soft breathy voice regardless of written story inflections. Her male voices were horrible. The main male voice was high for a male, many of the other character voices sounded like stereotypical New Jersey gangster voices or a voice somewhat similar to the Penguins voice from the 1960's Batman TV show.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Her normal reading voice was good. This was one of my favorite stories from this series. The story line was good, if somewhat predictable for the genre.

    Any additional comments?

I frequently reread favorite books. I bought this thinking I could listen to it as a reread during trips. Unfortunately I can't listen to it again. A waste of money that I could have used to buy a different favorite book.

    "Reader makes a difference"
Would you consider the audio edition of Ghost Hunter to be better than the print version?

    na

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I like Castle's stories and this series being futuristic.

What didn’t you like about Laural Merlington’s performance?

Except for the main woman character all the other voices sounded like everyone was in their 80's and the main male character sounded old and wimpish... spoiled the book for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    no

    Any additional comments?

I love audio books but voices need to fit the characters will not by a book read by this person again.

I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.

"Narrator put me off a little"
Did Laural Merlington do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Although the narrator did the differnt characters I was just put off by her voice and it took me a long time to get used to it. The story line is ok. Its a sci fi love story with a bit of action. It's still an ok book but nothing special.

"Can't believe I paid money for this"

The narrative is tedious and contrived to the point that I know what's going to happen before it happens in the story. If I could give the book a negative rating I would. The narrator adds nothing to the story; her performance is flat and her intonationis off. Most of the male characters nearly all sound like they have a cold. After an hour of listening, I find I simply don't care about the characters or the plot. Not even the dust bunnies are enough to keep my attention. Next time I'll pay closer attention to the reviews.

    "Negative Stars!"

DO NOT waste your credits, time or money! Truly terrible. The storyline was painfully drawn out and flat. I kept waiting for it to get better, and it just never did.
