Publisher's summary

Lucy Savage is not having a good week. Her cheating husband, Bradley, lobbed the final insult when he stood her up in divorce court. A dye job gone wrong has left her hair green. And someone is trying to kill her. To top it off, sexy cop Zack Warren is certain that the very same man Lucy is trying to wash right out of her hair is the same Bradley he wants to arrest for embezzlement. When someone shoots at her and then her car blows up, Zack decides she needs 24-hour police protection.

Next thing Lucy knows, Zack has moved in to her big Victorian house, making them both sleepless...and not just from things that go bump in the night.

Cute distraction

The heroine in endearing and quirky. The action is a bit weak, but it's a nice light, humorous plot. Would make a good bedtime listen.

Love Jennifer Crusie

I loved the story...so funny. Jennifer Cruise has a great sense of humor. I almost quit listening to the book after the first few minutes because of the narrator. I hate to be mean but she should not be reading out loud. the voice is very off putting. it's hard to visualize the characters when they all have squeeky voices. however Jennifer Cruise and her quirkiness pulled me right in anyway.

Easy and funny read

I loved this book. I need to read more of Jenifer Crusie’s books because this one was hilarious. It was light hearted and I loved everything about it. It was exactly what I needed this morning. It’s the type of book that leaves you happy after you finish it!

Good Read

A good, light read but really did not care for the narrator, Male characters were way too high pitched & whiny!

Annoying Narrator

This was a cute story and kept me entertained. I almost didn't listen because the narrators voice was so annoying! I pushed through and enjoyed the story. However, never really could get past the narrator every time a new character was introduced it was like nails on a chalkboard.

Great story but...

The voice performance for the male love interest grated on my nerves. He sounded dweeby- not like a bad boy cop as he’s described

Great Listen!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this one; the author keeps you interested I tend to listen before falling asleep but this one kept me awake a little too late. Great story line with a little laugh out loud moments!

Great fun!

humor, romance, suspense, mystery, relationships, dogs, law-enforcement

Another Crusie book guaranteed to have you snorting your caffeine! It's got a vintage house full of dogs named after physicists, more situational humor than a Mel Brooks movie, an embezzler, the bomb squad, and more. I first read it years ago and several times since, it never seems to lose its appeal!
This time I got the audio, and the narrator has the desired level of enthusiasm but the most annoying voice I've come across in a long time. I honestly would have preferred an AI.
