She was a on a quest of discovery. He was on a quest for revenge. Together they would discover a second chance.
Brenna Cameron travels from Scotland after losing someone she loves in search of family she didn't know existed. Alone now in the world, Brenna makes an arduous journey, following the trail of discovery to Briarwood, Montana. Here she meets Ethan Gallagher, and the rest of the Gallagher clan. Only with their help is she able to discover lost family, heal old wounds and embark on a treacherous confrontation with a man who destroyed her family.
As head of the Gallagher clan, Ethan has more than enough to occupy his thoughts and time-he didn't need the complication of Brenna Cameron and he certainly didn't need the trouble that came with her. Ethan takes on the unwanted duty of self-appointed protector to the headstrong Scot, only to discover there is such a thing as second chances and more to life than revenge.
The Historical Western Romance Montana Gallagher Series:
©2012 MK McClintock (P)2014 MK McClintock
I would strongly recommend this audiobook, specially to lovers of country romances filled with passion!
I usually don't compare books or audios! All of MK McClintock are amazing and unique!
I loved the main character Ethan Gallagher!
I loved when Ethan and Brenna met the first time! Also loved their special moments filled with passion and tenderness!
Alan Philip Ormond has the perfect voice for Gallagher's Pride! I love his voice filled with intonations, specially Ethan's voice! Brenna's voice was very well done! I really enjoy this audiobook and highly recommend it to everyone!
I read the series before they started to come out as audiobooks and I love them. It's easily one of my favorite audiobooks. The narrator is perfect for the story with his smooth and rich voice.
I love them but Ethan and Brenna tie for my favorite in this book. I really felt like I was a part of their lives and I really like the way the characters are written and narrated.
I don't have one favorite, but I love when Brenna first arrives in Briarwood.
Ethan. He's super sexy and the kind of man I'd like to know.
Great series. I look forward to listening to book two.
This is a book that takes place in the 1800's, partially in Scotland and partially in Montana. Brenna travels from Scotland to Montana after the death of her parents to find family members she had not previously known existed. She meets Ethan Gallagher fresh off the stagecoach and is taken in by his family. She stays with them throughout her search, which turns dangerous and she and Ethan develop strong feelings for each other. Ethan has been hurt by a woman before and is hesitant to give his heart to Brenna.
The story contains several plot twists that keep it interesting and had me going back for more. The narration by Alan Philip Ormond was superb. I loved the Scottish accent and I think it probably added quite a bit to my enjoyment of the book.
I was given this audio book free in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great listen. I loved the story line and all of the characters. Brenna and Ethan capture your heart. Have to order next book can't wait to find out about Gabriel and the rest of the gallaghers.
Gallagher's Pride is the first book I have read by MK McClintock. I purchase the Kindle book a few years ago, but just never got around to reading it. I won the audio version a few months ago, and decided to give it a listen. Gallagher's Pride is one of those books that I wish I had read or listened to sooner.
I enjoyed the story immensely, and I loved the characters! I enjoy watching westerns on television, but never thought I would enjoy reading or listening to one. I think that may be why I put off reading this book for so long.
Brenna Cameron is a headstrong woman, and she is a Scot. Those two things made me like her right off the bat. Soon after her father dies, Brenna thinks she is alone in the world with no living relatives. She soon discovers that she has family in Montana, so off she goes to Montana by herself.
Once in Montana Brenna has a run in with a few unsavory characters, but she is no timid little miss. She stands her ground, only to have Ethan Gallaher come to her rescue. She is not sure how she feels about this, but something about him makes her trust Ethan.
Brenna finally meets Nathan Hunter, her grandfather, and understands why her mother and father never spoke of him to her. He is a mean and cruel man, and has no desire to be a grandfather.
Gallagher's Pride is not a long book. The audio book is only about 6 hours long, but in this short period of time the author made me care about what happened to the characters. I felt invested in the story, and the plot. The secondary characters, Maybell (house keeper, and cook, but more like family), and Ethan's brothers made the story that much more enjoyable.
The narrator of the audible version is Alan Phillip Ormond, and he does an excellent job of narrating the story. When you listen to an audio book, and the narrator is a good one, it makes the story come to life. Well, at least it does for me. He doesn't speak to fast, and I wasn't bothered at all when he did the female voices. That is a big plus!
I will warn you though before you start reading this book, or listening to the audio version, that the story ends without resolving a few of the story lines. I wasn't too upset by that (I would have been normally), because I had the audible version of the 2nd book, Gallagher's Hope. If cliffhangers bother you, I recommend getting the 2nd book immediately.
This book does have some profanity in (damn, hell), but none are are vulgar. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys western romances, real cowboys, beautiful scenery. This book had just the right amount of excitement to keep you listening.
I won an Audible copy of this audible book in a contest from the author. All opinions and thoughts in this review are my own.
This book was an unexpected pleasure. Just enough twists and turns to hold my interest. The narrator was wonderful and gave the characters more meaning.
I am at that half a century mark in years. I enjoy audiobooks, cats, rats and most days my family, not necessarily in that order!lol
Brenna has lost the last person in her family,or so she thinks. She is off to a world away to find out why her parents were so hated by her grandfather.Little does she know her quest will lead her to more mystery and possibly a new life. This was a really good read.Alan Philip Ormond was the perfect narrator.I was gifted this book for an honest review.
Rabid Listener/Reader and Shopper!
Narration - Alan Philip Ormond - Really Good!
Loved his narration! Great storyteller. Good male and female voicing including Brenna's Scottish Brogue! Really enjoyed listening to this book!
This is the start to a series about the Gallagher siblings. Ethan, the oldest meets Brenna - newly in town from Scotland and right off the bat 'rescues' her from the unwanted advances of a local cowpoke.
There is a lot of story to this book, some mystery, a bit of adventure, some stubborn headed interactions, some sorrow and some joy. We also get to meet a large cast of supporting characters, townspeople, and family members. Some you'll love, other's not so much. It's well written with great characters and realistic descriptions that add color and flavor to the story. Be forewarned, there are some ends left untied, so I'm really glad that I already had Gallagher's Hope locked and loaded and I immediately started it as soon as I finished this one.
If you're a fan of Romance, Westerns, Cowboys, and/or good narration, I think you'll enjoy this. Oh, and this is pretty clean - there might be a curse now and again, but other than that, all romantic bits are left to the imagination.
Really enjoyed! Totally continuing with the series!

I didn't read the books, only listened to the stories.
I really didn't have a favorite one. I found the whole story to memorable. I loved how I had a romance book with none of the x-rated parts. MK McClintock proves that you don't have to put that in this book for their to be romance. The book is suitable for all ages from teen and up due to this.
Brenna - most definitely. The fact that each character had their own voice, really helped them come to life. I was nicely shocked when Brenna was read with a Scottish accent.
I wouldn't rename the book, as an introduction to the family, this title is perfect.

No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
I really enjoy romantic books set in the west. It doesn't matter if they are contemporary or historical. Gallagher's Pride fits right into that slot.
Brenna Cameron leaves Scotland in search of newly "found" family. She has no one left in Scotland so she is seeking a family connection an ocean and continent away.
Ethan Gallagher takes on the role of her protecting her and preserving her virtue.
Brenna and Ethan but (butt) heads quite consistently, but their discovery of one another may take their relationship in a different direction…
This was well-written and an enjoyable listen. Kudos to MK McClintock & Alan Philip Ormond.
