Publisher's summary

In Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes's Full Tilt, he lives life in the fast lane and she's along for the ride - with no brakes....

Beaumont, South Carolina, has mint julips, ladies who lunch, good ole boy politics, and Jamie Swift. She's running her family newspaper, ready to marry the town's most eligible bachelor, and getting her future locked in.

Then mysterious, high-tech wonder boy Max Holt comes to town. Sexy, wise-cracking Max has turned from computers to crime-stopping. Now' he's got a case in Beaumont and a reason to look up Jamie Swift. He finds her impossible. She calls him infuriating. They're a perfect couple...except for her fiance and the arrival of two hitmen.

Sure enough, someone wants to kill Max. Someone else wants a town bigwig rubbed out. And suddenly Jamie's caught in the crossfire of her own emotions, Max's secrets, and the most irresistible desire...

As with every single book I’ve ever read/listened to by Janet Evanovich, it’s wonderful! Great humor, great writing and great narration!

Hard to listen to

Usually love this narrator but ear splitting differences between different characters voices. Cut the music out-distracting

Full Tilt - full disappointment

If you are, as I am, a fan of Stephanie Plum and Granny Mazar, and the rest of Ms. Evanovich's characters and plots, you will probably be as disappointed in Full Tilt as I was.

I finished listening, but throughout the book, I kept promising myself that if a character uttered the words 'somebody ought to do something' in "this town"'even one more time I was going to delete the book and start something else!

I don't recommend "this book" to anyone!

You will want to shoot them yourself

"Exciting new series, filled with fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity."

NOT!

"Jamie Swift has one priority in quiet Beaumont, South Carolina: running the local newspaper."

Jamie Swift couldn't write a newpaper article to save her life, which is exactly what she does not do. If Jamie Swift is the hard-core newspaper journalist that the reviews make her out to be, she would have already investigated what was going on in her town, and blown the top off the scandal before Max Holt shows up. The only "shaking up" that is done is having her car riddled with bullets.

"Max and Jamie are betting their lives on a long shot."

Don't bet your life on a good listen; just bet that you will have an irratating listen.

definetly fiction

A talking car is a good example of how far this story stretches. Not what I expected.
