Publisher's summary

Suzanne Brockmann, New York Times best-selling author of the pulse-pounding Troubleshooters series, has been hailed by USA Today as a "superstar of romantic suspense".

In this original short story, Brockmann returns with some of her most beloved characters from the Troubleshooters world: Izzy Zanella and his friends in US Navy SEAL Team Sixteen.

What should be an easy training jump for SEAL Team Sixteen goes horribly wrong, forcing Izzy Zanella to do what he does best: improvise - at 30,000 feet.

Misleading

I thought this story was about Izzy saving the day. Nope, it's about Eden's little brother, her gay little brother, with all the "cut and paste" paragraphs we hear every time someone gay is mentioned. You know, the ones about how wonderful, insert name here, treats them because they're gay and special. I know that's not what SB is trying to do, but that is the impression I get from her words. Why not have a little more dialog between characters so we can hear how wonderful they are? And stop the moralizing, please! That's not a story, it's a sermon.

Nice rhythm & simple story

Good vignette highlighting teamwork between SEAL team members and their families. Honesty, as well as acceptance and tolerance of diversity are major themes

Good for a short story

I would recommend this short story to Troubleshooters readers. It’s nice to revisit the familiar characters. Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank do a great job narrating.

Love it!

Brockmann's Troubleshooters are the best! I can't wait for more because the characters are so well developed and make such great dynamics within their teams, partnerships and families!

Misleading title

Now that I listen to this, this is the only recommendations I seem to be getting. How do I change the preferences audible assigned to me.

Wait for sale, but good

10/2021 - Audio, updated review below

3/2017 - This is a fun & action packed short story that was originally included as a bonus in Brockmann’s YA book, “Night Sky”

It’s also kind of the first half of a storyline that continues in Home Fire Inferno (they’ve since been bundled into a single paperback or ebook, they remain only as individual audios)

While the ebook, esp bundle is a good deal, the price point for an under 90min audio is disappointing.

That said - it’s a fun story. A great way to catch up on the Gilman/Zanella clan, Tony & Adam, and a little on a few others. Combined with Home Fire Inferno it’s a solid entry into the Troubleshooters series.

Patrick Lawlor & Melanie Ewbank are great. I do wish Ewbank’s Izzy sounded less like her voice for Sam in previous books, but it was still enjoyable.

Note: Ready to Roll is further continuation of these storylines and I’d consider them a trilogy of sorts. Though Ready to Roll is book-length at 6 hours.

great little short

This short has two storylines - The Seals training day includes a HAHO jump where Tony has trouble, then Izzy, when he helps.
Adam picks up Ben when he gets into a school fight, as Dan and Izzy are out in training. Eden goes to an out of town wedding shower with Jennilyn, who is 8 months pregnant.
Lawlor does a great job of narration.
Ewbank is ok as narrator.
