For One More Day is the story of a mother and a son, and a relationship that covers a lifetime and beyond. It explores the question: What would you do if you could spend one more day with a lost loved one?
As a child, Charley "Chick" Benetto was told by his father, "You can be a mama's boy or a daddy's boy, but you can't be both." So he chooses his father, only to see the man disappear when Charley is on the verge of adolescence. Decades later, Charley is a broken man. His life has been crumbled by alcohol and regret. He loses his job. He leaves his family. He hits bottom after discovering his only daughter has shut him out of her wedding. And he decides to take his own life.

Absolutely! Because is a beautiful story. With a very important lesson that nobody should forget; however we all take for granted all the people, places and circumstances that matter the most. Is a beautiful reminder.
I don't remember her name but it was the cleaning lady. She saw things for what they were. People of limited resources most of the time see the best of anything, and she was just that. A wise woman who saw people and not material things.
When the main character ""survived" all of his suicide attempts. He needed to learn and to see his mom one more time.
I had a all kind of emotions and reactions. I laughed, I cried, It made me call my mother, but in general I think it made me a better person.
I love Mitch Album's books, I love the fact that he puts the emotions in which he wrote the book on his reading. I love audible because I don't waste my time anymore with radio stations and commercials. I learned everyday a bit more. And the best is that I can re-visit my library and listen to my beautiful treasures as much as I want. Audio books are the best invention. Thank you. :)
The story was one that everyone can have somewhat of a relationship to.
No favorites here.
Not extreme. Say, tugs at your heartstrings.
Worth the time, but not over the top.
This story is very sad. I watched it when they made the tv movie & it was just as amazing. This story is very sad but very happy at times as well. I would recommend this story to everyone. This is truly an amazing story.
loves redeeming power
It was so everyman and so very sweet. It was painful yet healing.
Relatable, poignant, and heart-wrenching
I loved how the book would switch from a story from Chick's childhood and present time. The depth of his relationship with his mom was extremely emotional. Everyone has that one person we would love to spend one more day with and this book allows readers to live vicariously through the main character.
