Publisher's summary

Experience the wild beauty and sultry magic of New York Times best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank's Carolina Lowcountry - where the pull of family is as powerful as the ocean tides and love can strike faster than lightening in summer....

Folly Beach is the land of Cate Cooper's childhood, the place where all the ghosts of her past roam freely. Cate never thought she'd wind up in a tiny cottage on this breathtakingly lovely strip of coast. But circumstances have changed, leaving Cate homeless, broke, and unmoored.

Yet Folly Beach holds more than just memories. Once upon a time another woman found unexpected bliss and comfort within its welcoming arms. An artist, writer, and colleague of the revered George Gershwin, Dorothy Heyward enjoyed the greatest moments of her life at Folly with her beloved husband, DuBose. And though the Heywards are long gone, their passion and spirit lingers in every mango sunset and gentle ocean breeze.

And for Cate, Folly, too, holds the promise of unexpected fulfillment. Folly Beach doesn't just hold the girl she once was... it also holds the promise of the woman she's always wanted - and is finally ready - to become. Filled with irresistible charm, saucy wit, and lush atmosphere, Folly Beach is vintage Dorothea Benton Frank.

Wonderful story and fabulous narrator

Love Robin Miles. She makes this story glow right into your soul. The history of one of my favorite musicals and the people who created it was enchanting. I want to visit the Low Country soon!

Have you listened to any of Robin Miles’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Robin Miles is what makes this author's books so fabulous. Have listened to other narrators and there is no comparison! Robin sounds like a true southern lady!

Any additional comments?

Robin Miles should narrate ALL of Frank's books! Seriously, the only ones that I will buy in the future will be narrated by Miles

Great Summer Read!

I truly enjoyed listening to this book. I downloaded prior to going to Folly Beach and enjoyed it while there. Her descriptions of the area were spot on and I enjoyed visiting several of the places she referenced in her book during my trip (Taco Boy, the Charleston Musuem, the lighthouse, the Porgy House)! The story held my attention and I felt the characters were family by the time the book was finished. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the beautiful descriptions of the low country and who enjoys a beautiful generational story. At times, I wanted to cry and 10 minutes later I would laugh outloud. Enjoy!

Great Story!

It was tough to get into at first, but I'm so very glad I didn't give up. It was a uniquely great way to lay out a story.
