A Wonderful follow up to Candle in the Darkness

I loved this book from beginning to end as the characters grew and their outlook changed over time. The main character begins as a selfish & spoiled northern young woman who begins going to abolitionist meetings only because the man she has her eye on believes slavery must stop. Although she begins her journey for selfish motives, as she gets involved , her heart is won over by the cause. She also learns she needs to put her life into the care of a God who loves all people no matter what differences may separate us on earth.

So sad it's finished...

I loved the characters. They were a joy to get to know. The Civil War became more personal, and the Characters grew through the experience. The reader can make or break a story this one did not disappoint. I'm sure I will listen to this again

The story was excellent, the narrator was very good! loved it. It was quite enlightening.

I couldn't stop listening. Lynn Austin never disappoints. God's purpose for life simply explained according to scripture in the midst of suffering and sorrow.

AMAZING!!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Everything from the storylines in the book, down to the narrator had me absolutely captivated! I read all 3 of the books in the series and I thought this storyline was going to be my least favorite, but now I am not so sure! The book does seem to start out a bit slow, but after a few chapters, you're hooked. I love how you don't see the ending coming. usually I can kind of tell how a book is going to end, but this author does a phenomenal job of leaving the reader wondering and excited for more!

I also LOVE the fact that the author incorporates good Christian values and lessons on faith in every book of this series.

I could read this book over and over again!! I would love seeing this book turned into a movie!!

Suspenseful

Super cool history, real life experiences in the Civil War with the bondage of slavery and the bondage of women. Author gives how do do you a picturesque account of the the gravity of the Civil War, the casualty of war and love.

Love this series!!

Entertaining and beautifully written! Lynn Austin knows how to write the journey of human emotion and twists and turns in life. I can’t get enough of her books.
