Didn't want it to end

The first book I cried because it finished. I want to keep hearing about their lives. I came to love all the characters so much, I'm sad they won't be in my life... at least, until I listen again.

Love It! Highly Recommend it?

This was a wonderful story that mixed civil war history with integrity, kindness and love. The author bound these attributes together with strong Christian values. I will listen to it many times. It not only entertained me with an uplifting love story, it furthered my knowledge of the difficult and painful Civil War times.

my teen grands and I loved this book. not too predictable depiction of civil war with interesting mix of characters and events.

Didn’t Want This Book To End!

I absolutely love this book and the series it is a part of! This is my fourth time listening to the audible version of this series and it won’t be my last! I love the way Lynn Austin writes - she never disappoints! I have learned so much about the Civil War from this series but it’s the characters that keep me totally intrigued. They are as real to me as can be. I wish this book and this series would never end!

I don't know that I would have chosen this book by the back cover synopsis but I would have missed out. I picked it up after enjoying Candle in the Darkness. Perfect combination of historical fiction and love interests.

Best Book yet!!

What did you love best about Fire by Night?

Sharing of God's word through the lives of the characters, the beginning of new life in Christ, and the laughter at the end made me rush to purchase the last book in the series. I must say it will be hard for another to stand up to this one! great listen!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Starting out with total dislike of Julia's character to a great respect before the book was over and Ike/Phoebe was terrific! You can't help but love her all the way to the very end and that left me laughing out loud! It was if I knew her personally!

What about Christina Moore’s performance did you like?

She was great also, she was able to change her voice to the point that you had the character totally pictured in your mind, it was as if you knew them!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! And almost did! I tried to save it and make it last it was sad to me when it ending because I wanted to go on with the lives in the book! I wasn't ready to give them up.

Any additional comments?

I'm almost dreading to begin the last book in this series because I really doubt the next one will stand up to this one. I liked the first one enough to buy the second one but wouldn't buy the 3rd one until i listened to this one because I was afraid I wouldn't want another one. If the first book had been this good I"m sure I would have purchased book 2 and 3 at the same time.
This book was really one I throughly enjoyed.

I could not stop listening! The author’s story is well written! The reader is the best I have listened too!
