Publisher's summary

I met Jamie Fraser when I was 19 years old. He was tall, redheaded, and, at our first meeting at least, a virgin. I fell in love hard, fast, and completely. He knew how to ride a horse, wield a sword, and stitch a wound. He was, in fact, the perfect man.

That he was fictional hardly entered into it.

At 29 Emma Sheridan's life is a disaster, and she's tired of waiting for the perfect boyfriend to step from the pages of her favorite book. There's only one place to look, and it means selling everything and leaving her world behind. With the aid of an unexpected collection of allies, can Emma face down a naked fishmonger, a randy gnome, a perfidious thief, and even her own abdominal muscles on the journey to find her Fraser?

Contains mature themes.

Ok

The book was interesting but the narrative was off and very distracting. Narrator took on a Russian accent instead of Scottish.

Interesting idea but predictable

For 29 years old she sure was naïve. I was very excited for the beginning of the book for the idea of her going to Scotland but the choices she made after that or just dumb. She didn't even try to go to Lallybrock either!!

Horrible accents, ok story

If you love Outlander you'll like the references to Herself and the characters she brought to life. I was distracted by the horrible Scottish accents. I also wondered at the author's use of the word "yes" at the end of every blog post for the main character?

Light hearted & entertaining, just what I needed!

What made the experience of listening to Finding Fraser the most enjoyable?

I liked this book because it was truly light hearted, funny and entertaining. There wasn't an overabundance of bad words or sex. It was simply enjoyable. I have recently been under a lot of stress and needed a book that was not stressful or full of tension. This fit the bill perfectly!

What other book might you compare Finding Fraser to and why?

I LOVED the fact that this was loosely following the Outlander book. No, it wasn't by Diana but the story of a present time woman trying to find a present time Jamie Fraser... It made me happy to hear the references and how she visited the historical land marks. Very nice way to integrate into the big picture.

What does Romy Nordlinger bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I had to giggle. Someone opined that when she tried to voice an Australian accent, it sounded something like an Asian accent blended with a Scottish accent. That sounded strange until I actually heard it for myself. That opinion was spot on! This, though, did not detract from my enjoyment of the book. I felt that Romy really improved with her accents by the end of the book. Well done. I'm all for improvement!

Not for me

Being male, I’m probably not the target audience for this book. I like historical romance books; I like the Outlander series; but, I like strong heroines. The story started slow , got slower. Angst, depression. I knew who the real Jamie would be way too early. The héroïne was painfully naive and seemed closer to a teenage girl than a grown woman. I skipped a lot of the book, hoping to get to a plot of some sort.

So much fun.

I didn't know if I was going to like this book, but after 10 minutes of listening ai was swept away. I found my self yelling at my radio in the car to a Character so real that she needed to open her eyes! Her man was right there! Lol. The narrator was great and really helped suck me into the story.

A cute story

It was a cute story overall. I'm Outlander OBSESSED myself, but I am not sure I am brave enough to do what Emma did. Also, I wish that the Jack Findlay books were real! I would love to read them!

Very Cute

Great story, wasn't 100% about the narrator but got through the book just the same.

Love the story

Just wish the narrator had been better at accents. Everyone sounded Welsh! For what is essentially fanfic, this is definitely above par.
