Publisher's summary

Internationally best-selling author Chuck Palahniuk's uproarious and irreverent debut novel Fight Club was transformed into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt.

When a listless office employee (the narrator) meets Tyler Durden, his life begins to take on a strange new dimension. Together they form Fight Club - a secretive underground group sponsoring bloody bare-knuckle boxing matches staged in seedy alleys, vacant warehouses, and dive-bar basements. Fight Club lets ordinary men vent their suppressed rage, and it quickly develops a fanatical following. Before long it takes on all the trappings of a quasi-religious cult, replete with a devastating ideological mission to accomplish.

A masterpiece of raw violence and black humor, this exciting novel challenges listeners to see the world through a new - and quite possibly deranged - set of eyes. Acclaimed narrator Jim Colby brings out the dark satire in this tale of modern alienation.

Interesting story. Okay narrator.

I enjoyed it a lot, a good one overall. Did not like this as much as the two other Palahniuk books I have read, Choke (read actual paper book) or Survivor (stunning audio book with fantastic narrator), I just wasn't AS impressed but I still love his style and oddball subjects. I think the narrator was just okay, kind of blah rendition and not really exciting, or maybe his voice/style just didn't fully match the character for me. But not bad narration, either.

Great book, kept me hooked the entire time. I don't want to see the movie after reading this but the book is always better anyways.

Seriously one of the best books I've ever bought

Amazon, ffs, you say leaving a review with words is (optional) but you get an error demanding 15 words. Come on...

Great book, and a good reading of it

Fight Club was the book that lit my fire for literature and reading just as a hobby. It changed the way I saw writers and how I thought about writing “style”. Almost 25 years later it’s still as entertaining as ever. The audiobook is well done, I had no problems with the narrator at all.

Wow. Definitely not what I was expecting. Much better.

If you saw the movie, this is not the movie. Don't expect the movie. This is it's own thing. And you might just be better because you read it. Or not. It's an experience. This book is an experience. Maybe good. Maybe bad. But it's definitely an experience. I'm glad I listened to it - while on a plane of all places. And now I have the rest of the day to process this book. I'm gonna need the rest of the day, because it's an experience. And I gotta go process it. Anyways, yeah, I recommend this book. It's one hell of a trip. Enjoy the ride. Oh, also, the narrator is fantastic.

Talking about Fight Club

The prose style of this book is unique and enjoyable. Tyler Durden and the narrator both make the story unreliable and yet it’s very hard to question anything happening as fictional. I enjoyed the novel and still want to know more about that ending. The narrator kills himself and then goes to Heaven. But he talks about returning. That sounds like a whole other novel.
