Publisher's summary

Internationally best-selling author Chuck Palahniuk's uproarious and irreverent debut novel Fight Club was transformed into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt.

When a listless office employee (the narrator) meets Tyler Durden, his life begins to take on a strange new dimension. Together they form Fight Club - a secretive underground group sponsoring bloody bare-knuckle boxing matches staged in seedy alleys, vacant warehouses, and dive-bar basements. Fight Club lets ordinary men vent their suppressed rage, and it quickly develops a fanatical following. Before long it takes on all the trappings of a quasi-religious cult, replete with a devastating ideological mission to accomplish.

A masterpiece of raw violence and black humor, this exciting novel challenges listeners to see the world through a new - and quite possibly deranged - set of eyes. Acclaimed narrator Jim Colby brings out the dark satire in this tale of modern alienation.

best book ever

Great book, read it as a teen and it was mind blowing then and still is. its overall tone and its satire only gets more pertinent with age.

A perfect story

I loved this book. Saw the movie years ago. Book is better. Chuck has a twisted mind, and it shows here!

A classic...

Everyone has got to read this book at least once. It's a fresh take on civilization that gets you thinking about life and the human condition... but even if you don't care about that, it's a great story.

Delightfully dark!

A friend of mine said she read this book and I kept thinking I’m vaguely familiar with this, I remember when the movie came out. So I have a little downtime from my nonfiction reading and said, I think I’ll check it out. I was not disappointed. Although I think the ending could’ve had a bit more punch, I think the entire narrative was engaging throughout it honestly, I can even forget the ending it not perfect because it’s darn near close.

Awesome, you should check this out.

I know you've seen the movie, but you owe it to yourself if you think you know the stout to get it from "the narrator" himself.

Good book, okay narration

I enjoyed the recording because it’s much easier to listen to, but it’s not anything too special

Saw the movie first, then read the book

Loved the movie, and loved the book. This book filled some of the holes that the movie left. Great narration, and flow. Highly recommend!
