The book everyone is talking about. When Ana Steele meets Christian Grey.... Romantic, liberating and totally addictive, Fifty Shades of Grey is a novel that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Convinced that their meeting went badly, she tries to put him out of her mind – until he turns up at the store where she works part-time, and invites her out.
Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man. And, when he warns her to keep her distance, it only makes her want him more. But Grey is tormented by inner demons, and consumed by the need to control. As they embark on a passionate love affair, Ana discovers more about her own desires, as well as the dark secrets Grey keeps hidden away from public view.

It was fabulous. Great story, great storytelling. Becca Battoe just brought the characters to life.
The time travelers wife read by Fred Berman, Phoebe Strole. They did a great job, but Becca was a cut above!
Her ability to really create characters with her narration. The mood and warmth or lack of she would create.
its too cool a name, I wouldnt call it anything else! Hat off to EL James! She's amazing!
One of the best. Not only is it a good story, but the narator Becca Battoe is the BEST that I've listen to so far.
I haven't read any others like this.
I haven't yet, but I absoluetly will
If it's me taking them out, I would say Kate or Anna.. But I would definitely let Mr Fifty-Shades take me to dinner any time.
Not worth the hype
Anything better then this
Her character voices
Will not be listening to the next in the series
I have never heard and Audiobook narrator this bad. Do not listen to the Audiobook if you have never read these books before. She reads very slow so you loose the banter and flow between the characters because you are just waiting for her to get to it. She is also terrible at accents. In the first book she sounds like a teenager trying to put on a mans voice (all over exaggerated deep voice that she struggls to use constantly) it was very distracting and unrealistic. Also any new character automatically has a southern drawl (annoying and inconstant given that the book is set in Washington State!) and then when she try's to do a foreign accent I don't know what she was trying to do but she mangles it badly. I could not recognises any of the accents she was trying to do (and they were only French, Scottish and Russian, pretty standard accents).
If you have read the books before, as I had, you can go with the flow to some extent but absolutely do not get these if you haven't already read the story, it will put you right off the books before the end of the first chapter. In any event you will find yourself banging you head against the wall at how she mangles simple things.
I prefer audio
All of them
They are all good
A must for your audio library
I've just finished this audio book and I have one question...When are the others coming out on audible? The story is definitly worth the hype it has been getting.
abysmal plot ( or rather lack thereof). sexy? not really, sex scenes very moderate - and bordering on ridiculous. Complete lack of character development - on both parts; dialogue stilted and boring. Laughable - in fact is should be classified as a parody - at least then folks wouldn't be disappointed!
Lee child, I think....
anyone with less whiny voice....
some descriptions are funny?
"wow its great being read to you"
this is my first audio book I've listened to and I'm looking forward to getting all 3 books of the trilogy
love the whole story nothing is more memorable to me love the whole trilogy
she makes the story come to life
i would love to but beings i got the book at 02:06am it was very hard to do so
so can't wait for the rest of the books
The narrator reading the female voice was more than false and grating. It was unbelievable and distracting
This book was long winded and dragged out.
The storyline was poor and the book badly written
"Kinky - But looses its lustre after a while"
This book will certainly have you hot under the collar but it's just a little predictable in the end and there's only so much you can listen about spanking before it looses its excitement. The performance by Becca Battoe increases my overall rating for this book because her voice works so well for the main character (Ana) and I guess this book with all its emails and txts is trying to be a modern book for a modern era, but seriously - bring back sex, drugs and rock & roll if this is really the best we can do.
"What's all the fuss about?"
This is a massive case of "King's New Clothes". All the hype surrounding this book makes people believe that it is going to be a real sexy read. NO it isn't.
I found it quite childish. Yes the heroine is put through some strange initiations by Mr Grey but they are far from sexy. Violence in sex to the extent described is perverted and not titillating.
There are far sexier books in the Audible collections (Anne Marie Villefranche, Tessa Stimson, Sophie Kinsella to name but three).
Sorry but I cannot say I enjoyed the book and will not be buying the next two in the series.
"Flat, repetitive, cheesy, annoying"
Some better story writing skills
Leave out the exchange of emails between Ch and A.
I liked her voice
Annoyance and disappointment. It was difficult to keep listening after the first half. Too cheesy
20 hours of sexual fantasy, that gets predictable, and annoying after short while. Christian is a cross between Batman, James Bond, and McGyver.
"would of been amazing if not for the narrator"
no i have always loved the books and thought it would be nice to listen to them instead.
christian grey for sure lol u just feel him pull u in to the story
i didnt like her trying to play the part of the male characters that was the biggest disappointment for me while listening to the story. there should of been both a male and female narrator to tell the story then i would of given it 100/100
it will be on the 14th feb 2015 and i cant wait to go see it
u should be able to change the narrator reading the books if your not happy with them that way everyones happy
"it is all about the sex?"
I have only listened to the audio version so can't compare to written text, but my experience of audio is that its always better than the written text as I like the interpretation the narrator puts into the story
Becca Battoes charactorisation of both Anastasia and Christian
the none sex scenes, the general storyline was ok
if I had time yes but as don't made do with listening to it in bits as I always do
although this book has been published as porn, there were other elements to this book that were good, although the story line wasn't overly strong, it does lead to 2 much better books
The story was lazily written with the odd big work in each paragraph to sound intellectual.
I haven't listened to Becca Battoe's other performances so I can't compare however I think the performance was quite good.
Avoid this book in any form. It is lazily written pron.
I found myself getting very bored listening to this book because the story seemed to be very boring and due to my personal thoughts about it- the main character seems to be very stupid and naive and that got me irritated when I was listening to the book.
But this is my personal taste. I got this because my friends kept telling me about how great it is, I was disappointed.
the jeremiah hunt chronicle . The books seem to be amazing!
Yes the tone of voice and intonations were very good, and I agree to female reading this book was a good choice
the main femal character needs to be changed in my opinion to someone who is not as naive
