Publisher's summary

A crippling knee injury forced Elliot Mills to trade in his FBI badge for dusty chalkboards and bored college students. Now a history professor at Puget Sound University, the former agent has put his old life behind him, but it seems his old life isn't finished with him.

A young man has gone missing from campus and as a favor to a family friend, Elliot agrees to do a little sniffing around. His investigations bring him face-to-face with his former lover, Tucker Lance, the special agent handling the case.

Things ended badly with Tucker, and neither man is ready to back down on the fight that drove them apart. But they have to figure out a way to move beyond their past and work together as more men go missing and Elliot becomes the target in a killer's obsessive game....

Mystery and suspense

Would you listen to Fair Game again? Why?

I would listen to Fair Game again when in the mood for a great, fast-paced, mystery and suspense story.

What other book might you compare Fair Game to and why?

Josh Lanyon's Dangerous Ground series - fast-paced, suspenseful, great adventures, mystery, and some romance as well, and Mexican Heat by Josh Lanyon and Laura Baumbach, which is an awesome thriller.

Which character – as performed by Ray Ramano – was your favorite?

Elliot Mills.

Who was the most memorable character of Fair Game and why?

Elliot Mills - he's tough, and a bit grumpy at times, but he's a softy really, and very caring. I enjoyed getting to know him - the way he approaches teaching, and watching him in cop mode, and how he is with the people around him, especially his father and ex-lover Tucker Lance.

Good story. Good narration.

My favorite type of bedtime story, a murder mystery, romance, thriller that is well written and has interested characters.

A mixed bag...

I really liked the mystery part of the book. It was scary and creepy. The relationship part between Tucker and Elliott seemed flat to me and I just couldn’t get into it. Also, in some of the action scenes, the transition seemed abrupt as it moved on. For example, one of the times Elliott was attacked, he was at the scene of the attack, then instantly he was at Tucker’s home. And what was with all the 60s references?

A Great Serie!

Narration was clear and compelling. This is love. The ups and downs, the trust and suspicions, the family of it all. My husband gave me the look when he noticed the main characters are gay. Then he asked me to turn the volume back up. The mystery is that compelling and the characters are that loving/carefull with each other's heart. Hint...book 2 is even better!

Josh Lanyon is a Must read

Loved this story, Josh Lanyon makes his stories come alive without overkill. I have most of his books on my Kendle, wish more would come out in audio.

Nothing special, just alright

All in all, it was a pretty mediocre book. Nothing terrible about it but also nothing too remarkable. Just a run of the mill cop book. Same for the voice actor. He did his job, but nothing special. Voices all sounded the same and didn't have a whole lot of emotion to them but nothing that made the book unbearable.
