"Why do you want to be a boat builder?"
"Because," said Morwenna, "I like the way the boats grow."
Morwenna and Corwin are eight years old, wind-swept and salty-haired twins growing up on the Devon coast. In the soft autumn light, they play as their grandfather, Matthew, watches the boats come in. But it is a day unlike any other.
Bringing Stan In is the short-story prequel to The House at the Edge of the World by Julia Rochester. If you liked this, you’ll love the full-length novel.

28 minutes of broken plots but I feel the author will get better

Without give the plot away it was the perfect ending!
I can listen to Anita Jay's narration all day. She has a smooth, comforting voice . I listen to this story at night instead of white noise to fall asleep. Not because the story isn't entertaining but because it's so easy to listen to it.
I recommend this audio book to anyone who likes well written short stories.
A very enjoyable short story !

Love the harbors of our British isles. It belongs way back somewhere in the 40s & 50s when life was much simpler. Where youth learns from natural artisans who let them develop their given gifts without pressure or censure. Took me back to my childhood when a neighbour let me learn everyday gardening simply by following and watching. Little interaction verbally but masses of absorption by osmosis. Thank you for making it freely available.

Would you listen to Bringing Stan In again? Why?
Yes, It is a good little short story to contemplate what death is. How it affects people and how the innocent observations of children are good coping skills. What did you like best about this story?
I liked that it took me through the death and funeral process. What about Avita Jay’s performance did you like?
I noticed her dialect was different and wondered if it was part of the setting for the story? If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Stan's DepartureAny additional comments?
It would be a great animation story to teach children about death. It is also great for adults who are not quite sure how to share death with young children.Dealing with Death
