Through extermination, IDP camps, hostility, war… Israel.
One of the best books I’ve ever read and listened to. The story of the Hebrew people is unlike any other in history. It is fascinating what this tiny group of people have weathered and persevered. Leon Uris does a phenomenal job capturing the tale of the birth of Israel. Well done.

A story for the ages
I first read Exodus in 1968, shortly after the miracles of the six day war, in 1967. A teenager then, the story was unforgettable, even larger than life. That reading inspired me to closely follow the Nation of Israel’s contemporary history-indeed, there’s something more at play in the book and with the Nation, than a people w grit and courage. Exodus repeats the must be true scripture : He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Amazing book
The performance is EXCELLENT!!!What an incredible story! The characters are well developed and the historical parts. When I was younger my parents talked about this incredibly book and I’m so glad that I was able to listen it. Honestly, this is a must read book.

Exodus from a pro-western point of view...
Uris is not that great of a writer, at least for my tastes. However, what he lacks in interesting wordplay, he more than makes up for in passion for his subject matter. Exodus is not a fair or accurate potrayal of the real life events surrounding the founding of Israel in 1948 but it is a wonderfully passionate explaination of the what it all meant to the jewish people. It also contains a pro-western and a pro-US point of view that is currently out of fashion in many duller circles.
