Publisher's summary

“Passionate summary of the inhuman treatment of the Jewish people in Europe, of the exodus in the 19th and 20th centuries to Palestine, and of the triumphant founding of the new Israel.” (The New York Times)

Exodus is an international publishing phenomenon - the towering novel of the 20th century's most dramatic geopolitical event. Leon Uris magnificently portrays the birth of a new nation in the midst of enemies - the beginning of an earthshaking struggle for power. Here is the tale that swept the world with its fury: the story of an American nurse, an Israeli freedom fighter caught up in a glorious, heartbreaking, triumphant era. Here is Exodus - one of the great best-selling novels of all time.

Tremendous historical value

The first time I read this I was 11. My parents forbade me to so I read it when they were at work. With the wisdom and knowledge of years and visits to Israel this was a visceral experience. My Aunt was interned in Cyprus.

History of Israel

I love World history and didn’t realize how little I knew about Palestine. This is my second book of his I’ve listened and really enjoyed both. Suspect I may listen to all of them

Truly great

not only a landmark piece of literature but quite possibly the best narration of any audio book I've ever heard.

Everything is PHONOMANAL.

Exodus is a stone-cold classic masterpiece. The narration by Paul Micheal is phonomanal. Exodus is one of the greatest books ever written since The Bible, which is the greatest book, and they are both related, obviously. Wow.

Educational and entertaining

Thank you for a great book. Helped me understand Israel, the Jewish people, and the never ending conflict over the land. Great historical fiction with very believable characters. Didn't want it to end.

Sweeping history of the Jewish State.

If you could sum up Exodus in three words, what would they be?

Powerful, comprehensive, required.

What other book might you compare Exodus to and why?

Exodus is a sweeping history of the Jews. The story is about the establishment of modern day Israel from what was Palestine, but the story is timeless. Its well written, hard hitting, and should be required reading for anyone who has an interest in why Israel exists.

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Very well read

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sweeping history of the Jewish State.

Any additional comments?

A Must read for anyone interested in why the tiny country of Israel exists and what it has to offer the rest of the world.

Beautiful story

This is an epic story, one not to be missed. Great narrator, exceptional characters, and a flowing story make this a wonderful listen. Exceptional all the way around.

Outstanding!

I listen to this book as part of Ben Shapiro’s monthly book club.

Leon Uris is an amazing author, historian, and storyteller. We learned much of the past and history between Israel and Palestine. And the story of people with their raw emotions was beautifully told.

I am impressed by the loyalty of Jewish people to the country, their family, and their God. This is now one of my favorite books.
