Publisher's Summary

Charlotte Emory has always lived a quiet, conventional life in Clarion, Maryland. She lives as simply as possible, and one day decides to simplify everything and leave her husband. Her last trip to the bank throws Charlotte's life into an entirely different direction when a restless young man in a nylon jacket takes her hostage during the robbery--and soon the two are heading south into an unknown future, and a most unexpected fate.

    "I liked it"

I thought this was a very nice story of two lonely people who cannot figure out what they want in life, coming together in an unexpected event. The development of the characters was very well done. I would definitely recommend this.

    "such a beautiful book"

Elizabeth Rogers is an amazing narrator. I hung on every word that she as Charlotte said throughout the entire story. I'm left haunted at the events which gave me more insight on Charlotte's younger life.
