It was very enjoyable to listen to a story about a man sweeping a woman off her feet and not wealthy. Just making the right choices to make his woman happy without a balling out of control budget.
Awesome read. 1st I love everything Zuri Day. I haven't read a bad book yet.
Although home girl maybe a bit bougier (sp) than me, I can totally relate. Her and her crew are educated middle/upper and desire men of the same socio-econ status. I don't see anything wrong with that. Sometimes, God places people n your path for whatever reason. I think this book painted a picture stating no one is better than the next - we are all people. Buuuut, that mama though - way to0 much.
There were very many developed & interesting parts. Very refreshing read.
Enjoyed - I struggle w/Blue collared selections in men - who knows, I could be stifling my prospects.
I enjoyed the story line because it give me hope that it is not to late to find love. I like the writing of this Author because when I read another one of her books she was real.
I'm a huge fan of Audible. As a school librarian, I've found that it passes my days and nights.
This is the typical love story. However, I did enjoy it. I couldn't believe the audacity of her mother, and I was highly disappointed that it seemed that Crystal fought alone. I would recommend this book.
I loved Cynthia and Byron's love Journey. It was touching and definitely drama filled. And my goodness it was so funny. ( mrs. Carter) this is the story of a well-to-do woman who meets the average Joe bus driver and they fall in love. But you know there's drama all through it. I love the story like a mofo LOL I'm pretty sure you'll love the story. I did. <3
The exchange between Byron and Cynthia on the bus...the conversation was real, I've heard it before and smiledn just as I did when listening to the book!
She is excellent at distinguishing different characters so that I knew who was speaking before the script identified the person. She was perfect for this book; her intonation, timing, and ability to exude warmth in her voice was truly delightful! Her brilliant narration made the book come alive!
Who knew riding a bus could be such a trip?
Zuri Day's writing is careful and it is real conversation, culturally realistic and wholly engaged in crafting a believable and heartfelt story. She is superb and I do hope that she continues with the Clark family, they make me smile and sigh :-)
Audio books are growing. I have listened to books for months now, But I prefer my books in paperback/hardback format.
Lol, this book was actually good. I been having a debate with myself and wondering if Bryon is a big guy or not. But when he said muhfa and she started saying it had me dead weak. Lol glad she chosen Bryon in the end. Lord knows I couldn't stand Cynthia mom at all.
