A fresh take on an oldie
I really enjoyed listening to this book. In my opinion, Stephen King sometimes has a tendency to include so much irrelevant detail that I lose my place, but I didn’t find that with this book at all! The story was a fresh take on a goodie but an oldie, and kept my interest the entire listen. I’m glad I bought this and will probably give it another listen the best time I read the shining.

Getting back to Dan and totally enjoying it
This book was recommended by my son Michael . I’m happy to say that I loved reading about Dan as an adult and very happy he conquered his demons. I will definitely recommend this book to others!

Really liked it.
It was a great book. An excellent continuation to "The Shinning". It was wonderful to hear about Danny Torrance again, and how in spite of every life decision he's taken, some how, some way, everything always returns to that fateful winter in the Overlook Hotel. My only complain is the reader's speed, I had to listen to the the book at 1.45x faster than normal.

King never ceases to amaze me!
I am so glad King felt that Danny's story was not finished. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and Patton's performance. The two are an unbelievable match! If you're read The Shining, you MUST finish it. Doctor Sleep completes the saga!

I love this so much! This was a fantastic story! I will be listening to this one again for sure. I was skeptical if I would like the story at first and I was so wrong! If you liked the shining I can highly recommend!

Great sequel to the Shining
I watched the the movie The Shining and liked it. I listened to Doctor Sleep and watched the movie after, and the movie did not do it justice.
The narrator did a great job bringing the book to life. Stephen King did a great phenomenal job bringing the audience up to speed with Danny and rest of the cast after the Overlook Hotel. The development of the characters, the plot, everything was just top notch.

Great read!
Whatever you do, don't watch the movie. The book was amazing, though! I'm currently reading the models in order, but decided to do this one right after The Shining. Loved how it all tied together.

I enjoyed revisiting the shining world. Nicely done. The performance was top quality. Watching the movie first I didn’t have extremely high hopes. I was pleasantly surprised!
