    "Exciting"

What an exciting "who-done-it" type book. Alcorn's descriptions of Heaven infused this audiobook not only with excitement that had me not wanting to shut it off, but with a hope for the future in a less than stable time!

"Randy Alcorn lives up to his reputation!"
What made the experience of listening to Deadline the most enjoyable?

The continuous fast pace made it very enjoyable. It enabled me to drive without getting sleepy from Nashville back to Metro Detroit!

What other book might you compare Deadline to and why?

It was somewhat similar to Dominion, but not quite as good.

What about Frank Muller’s performance did you like?

He seems to have a good grasp on what the person should sound like without sounding cliche.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I wasn't expecting it, but this story provided a glimpse of Heaven that I had never considered.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Deadline or Lifeline

"Very good but weak performance & story."

I must admit after 1st reading "Safely Home" the standard set by that novel was going to be hard to equal and that is the case with "Deadline". If I had read "Deadline" first then my performance rating would likely have been four stars instead of three. However, on balance this is a very good read and the character development of each of the individuals is well done. The story is a "who done it" with many twists and turns and several surprises not revealed until the very end of the novel. I would have appreciated even more detail in the development of some of the characters as I found myself wondering about each character and how they got to where they were in the story. If you like thriller reading you wont be dissappointed by this novel. I was a bit dissappointed in the narrator as his voice was not that convincing as each of the story characters were presented through the novel. Also, the music and dramatization used was only average at best. Maybe this is not fair because Jeff Sever was so convincing in his narration of the "Safely Home" book and the dramatization in that book was awesome.

Randy Alcorn is an excellent writer and story teller and a brother in Jesus Christ so his credibility is tops with me. I was unaware of his writings until earlier this year when our Pastor suggested the "Heaven" book was an excellent read and it was offered in hardback to the congregation at cost to what the church paid for the copies so my wife and I purchased it. I can highly recommend the Heaven book either in printed or audio format as it is the most encouraging thing I have ever read and set my understanding about Heaven in the proper light. We will definately purchase more of Randy's work and suggest you take a look at all of his efforts. His work is especially appreciated by believers but worth consideration by anyone with a genuine interest in the Christian Faith.

    "moralistic tale"

This book should be billed as the moralistic tale it is. It describes the current world as an evil place, where a teenage girl reluctantly looses her virginity to a boyfriend with AIDS after encoragement by her high school teacher. I feel cheated out of the money I paid for a mystery.

    "a disappointment"

I have nothing against Christian writers, however I was disappointed in this book because I felt the author was trying to convert me. This needs to be mentioned in the description.

I'm constantly listening to recorded books. Right now I'm a bit sick and weak, but can still enjoy a good listen. I'm so glad I have this resource available.

    "Deadline"

A pretty exciting "who done it". Likeable characters and excellent narration by Frank Muller. Surprise ending was believable. However, the religious aspect the author worked in really turned me off. He had people in heaven talking to Jesus, etc. Otherwise, not bad.
