A heartwarming story about the resilience of true love, inspired by a biblical account of greatness, courage, and foretold prophecy... Princess Michal was the youngest daughter of Saul, the first king of Israel. In an age when fathers arranged marriages, Michal dared to fall in love with a handsome young musician named David, from the little town of Bethlehem. As recounted in the Bible, Michal helped David escape from her insanely jealous father. King Saul punished his daughter with forced marriage to a distant war lord. Princess Michal unexpectedly returns from seven years of exile to find a changed world. Most of her relatives are dead. David has become King of Judea. He has acquired six additional wives, one of whom is a princess from Geshur. Michal longs to have a son to reign over Israel and reestablish the rule of King Saul's heirs. But each royal wife has hopes of placing her own son on the throne. Can Princess Michal's love for King David survive war, madness, infidelity, and betrayal?

I love recorded books, but the background noise on this book was distracting and the narrator had a basic sing song voice. Amateurish quality at best. The story may have been better with quality recording but it dragged on. I loved that the Authors began each chapter with the coinciding scripture and did well to stick closely to the Bible.
At times the story line was hard to follow, but over all it was a great story line. However the narrator was difficult to follow. The Bible is full of beautiful stories, I love to read the stories that brings life, fun, love and reality to the wonderful Word of God. I hope there will be another..the rest of this story...it stopped abruptly, would have loved a closure to the story.
What a great read. This book told of the love between David and Michal and their life, from the time they were children. The book was told from Michal's point of view. It told of the many hardships they both had to face, how it affected their marriage and the dynamics of their lives along with David's other wives and concubines. No, this book is not full of biblical facts, but rather it helps us to wonder what life was like, how their lives affect us today and more importantly, how thankful we should be that we live in today's world. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. For a good, entertaining read that will leave you thinking, this is the one for you.
