Good stuff
Very good for a romantic Novel. It was a whole lot better then similar novels involving vampires. I recommend this book if you like vampire stories and you don't mind sexual moments.

glorified sex book!
nothing really all that special. I've listened to hundreds of book on here. this one is fast paced but it is action sex action sex... if you are into that then it is good but if you like meaning from what you listen to then this book sucks. plus I hate the reader, he is boring and doesn't have different voices nor is he consistent with accents. I won't be continuing this series!

Interesting read for a difference
Would you consider the audio edition of Dark Lover to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the book, only listen to the audiobook.
What other book might you compare Dark Lover to and why?
I compared it to Fifty Shades of Grey, and the other two books in that series. This series is not as smoothly written as Fifty Shades, but at least the first book was interesting and kept me waiting to see what would happen next.
Which scene was your favorite?
Beth guarding Wrath in the barn when she thought the cop and Vicious were enemies.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I really liked the story line. A society of warrior vamps isn't that hard to imagine, with all of the dangers that come with it. I liked the love story behind it the most.

A Good Start
I actually "read" all these books out of order so I'm reading the last one first. It really is a good start for this amazing series. Wrath, the reluctant king, and Beth, the daughter of Darius, are a great match. Love JR Ward's storytelling capability. There is a lot of violence and sex but there is more character development than in most any series I've ever read. Some complain about the lack of plot but these stories are really about the people and a complicated plot really isn't necessary. JR makes you care so much about these characters. The pace is just right. Plus I love the narrator. Really enhances the book experience.

One of my very favorite books!
This is the beginning of my addiction to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. All the elements of a perfect vampire romance.

Better than expected
I was Leary reading the reviews. However over all not a bad story. Does make you want to know what comes next. Doesn’t compare to Zodiac Academy or something. In that aspect. This is strictly vampires.

Loved the story. There were some 90s lingo that was a little cringey and dates the book, but the overall plot, love story and spice was excellent. Will continue in to the next books.
