Publisher's summary

Reality is overrated.

Exhausted single mom Daisy Garner is shocked when her blog about life with Darling Husband and Baby Delight in their charming Victorian home brings a national talk show to her door.

Amazing! Except she made the whole thing up.

Panic! Now she needs to borrow a Victorian house and find a man to play her fake husband on TV.

Travis O'Hare steps up for the role, as long as she'll marry him for real. He wants their son to have the stable home life Travis never had.

But before the wedding can happen, Travis and Daisy have to get through the interview with a ratings hungry host and a slick producer with ties to Daisy's troubled past. When a winter storm traps them all, it begs the question: can two people pretending at love finally discover the real thing?

LOVED It!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Clover Park series and is written by Kylie Gilmore and narrated by Charles Lawrence. Daisy Garner is a single mom and is shocked when her blog about life with Darling Husband and Baby Delight in their charming Victorian home brings a national talk show to her door. The problem is she made the whole thing up. Now she needs to find a Victorian house and a fake husband. Travis O'Hare steps up for the role, as long as she'll marry him for real. He wants their son to have the stable home life Travis never had.

The narrator Charles Lawrence did a wonderful job with this book. He did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Combines Family & Romance - a true winner

AudioBook Review
Stars Overall 4 Narration 4 Story 4

Adding a touch of fantasy, or wishful thinking, to a rather mundane and settled life is what’s expected from Daisy, the younger now reformed wild child of the family. She’s made huge changes in her life, now a single mother she is dedicated to her little boy, and only wants to make his life secure. When her blog about family, relationships and her ‘perfect’ life takes off, and she’s fielding inquiries from a television show, it’s time to face the realities. An absent bad-boy fathered Bryce, and he had shown no interest in a relationship, let alone a family. But, things change, and Travis has grown up: or has the opportunity to be on television provided the needed life change, for now.

Gilmore manages to use the deepest desires of Daisy’s heart to make the story take flight. Imagining what could be, if detailing them as what is, hurts no one, really. But, while she’s not looking, those things start to fall into place. Travis wants another chance: he’s good with Bryce (if more than occasionally overwhelmed), he seems to be committed to doing the right thing, and ….he’s there right in front of her.

I loved the progression of their relationship, the obvious affection showed by Travis to both his son and Daisy, and the ‘all in’ approach that is shown by both Daisy and Travis to the whole topsy-turvy world of parenthood and family. No one is ever quite prepared, and the ability to be honest in the confusion allows them both to reveal their own feelings as they relate to the future, their future and intentions. Great growth in both characters, some funny family dynamics and, of course, the whole façade that brought Travis back into Daisy’s life.

Narration for this title, like the first, is provided by Charles Lawrence. The continuity between the two books using the same narrator is a highlight: voices established in The Opposite of Wild continue here, with new moments and development that allows a seamless listen through the books. Never over-acting for female voices (a HUGE pet peeve), Lawrence manages to balance the more feminine delivery and speech patterns while still not imitating, and the perspective from the men is clear and distinct.

A wonderful series full of moments of heart, heat and smiles: sure to please romance readers looking for a story that combines family and romance to come out on top.

I received an AudioBook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions and expectations are my own responsibility.

Welcome Back to Clover Park

Would you consider the audio edition of Daisy Does It All to be better than the print version?

I think that the experience is completely different. One isn't better than the other but I love how the characters seem to come alive in audio books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Daisy because she just kept going even when life got complicated. She was a good mom to Bryce and eventually wised up when it came to Trav.

What does Charles Lawrence bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think I said this from the first book but he just does a really amazing job of bringing the characters to life. When you are reading a book it's just your voice in your head but when you are listening to Charles you can differentiate each distinct character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! Yes! I wanted to know what was going to happen so I had to keep listening.

Any additional comments?

I love Clover Park and the characters Kylie has created. I feel like I could live there and be friends with them. I can't wait to start Rachel and Shane's story!

The series has been engaging and enjoyable

Which character – as performed by Charles Lawrence – was your favorite?

Travis

Who was the most memorable character of Daisy Does It All and why?

Daisy. She struggles to better herself not only for herself but also for her son, Bryce.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to books 5-10 of this series, and loved each one, so I thought it was appropriate to listen to previous stories.
I am amazed how Ms. Gilmore finds subjects so diverse in each of these stories, and still keeps the essence of the town of Clover Park, and the connection the main and secondary characters have with each other.
In this story we have Daisy, a single Mom that has a popular blog . A blog that is all made up. She depicts herself as a happily married woman, with a devoted , sexy husband, an angelic son, living in a Victoria home, as well as being a fabulous cook and a very organized homemaker. When in fact none of these things is true.
Travis O’Hare , her one night stand, is the father of her son. He has a place in his son’s life, and has already asked Daisy to marry him, for the sake of the baby. She has refused each time.
Now Daisy gets a call from a tv show that wants to go to Clover Park not only to meet her, but spend time with her and her “family”. Travis volunteers to be the “husband” so long as she agrees to marry him. She agrees to the “blackmail” .
When the tv production company and the talk host arrive, Daisy is in for more than one surprise and the lies starts to unravel.
Lots of drama, a wonderful cast of secondary characters, scenes that will make you laugh out loud (like the one with Travis in the snow) and others that will be heartbreaking.
The story is also a reminder that even though we make mistakes in life, those are really lessons to be lived so that we can mature and learn that life is messy and untidy , but in the end perseverance and love will prevail.
Another engaging story by this talented author.
The narrator, Charles Lawrence, does an excellent job with this audiobook.

I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Daisy and Travis

Daisy has always been the family screw-up. She’s the one that never followed the rules, and usually got caught. And now she’s had a baby.

Travis was always his family’s wild child. But when he finds out he’s a dad, he steps up and shares the responsibility of raising his son with the baby’s mother. He’d like to make them all a family, but Daisy doesn’t want that. Until she does – at least for a little while. And then things get a little crazy…

Kylie Gilmore has written an entertaining story full of humor. Daisy and Travis could be any young couple, except they get into some of the funniest predicaments. Their families are very involved, and all of the characters are very well-defined and will make you laugh. These are responsible people in the community, with lives and careers.

If you’ve never read stories by Kylie Gilmore, what’s taking you so long?

Charles Lawrence does an amazing job with all of the voices in the audio version of this book. This is a fun one, so enjoy!

I love this Audible!

I love this book by Kylie Gilmore. Charles Lawrence does a fantastic job with this book. He had me falling in love with Trav from the beginning. He did a fabulous job with Daisy’s story.
The book is all about Daisy who is a single mom that writes a blog. In this blog she makes up thing that are not true like where she lives and the great husband and kid she has. Travis is trying to be a great father to his son and get Daisy to marry him. Until a TV show want to do a show on her and she needs her darling husband that she has made up. he uses this as a way to get what he want or at least he try. Will it work out? Will they get married? Can they keep up with everything for the show?
Get this amazing book to get all the answers. You will not be disappointed.

Sometimes you have it all and just can't see it!

In this beautiful story Daisy Garner came back to her hometown of Clover Park to raise her baby boy and get her life together while having the support of her family and the baby's father, who happens to be the brother of her sister's fiance. While Daisy is struggling with everyday life as the mother of a not so easy Bryce she decides to start blogging about life with her baby and her oh so perfect life when she's not waitressing at her family's restaurant. When a talk show asks for an interview because of the popularity of her blog she's so excited she doesn't think the situation through. She doesn't have a perfect anything and she's scrambling to try to pull off an epic act and fool the world. Travis in the meantime is happy to play along but his act come with stipulations. He wants them to be a family and this may just be the way to reach that goal but then again maybe not. With Daisys ex thrown in and all kinds of obstacles can these two people overcome it all and find a way to love and live together. Beautifully narrated and full of laughs, fun and sweet and sexy moments that will keep your ears and heart happy. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

A fun fantasy with a taste of reality

Any additional comments?

I really understood where Daisy comes from with her fantasy blog what I had trouble understanding was how she thought she would get away with what she did and the whole family and friends going along with it. Too many people in town know her it would have come out sooner or later. So for me this was a little over the top but it sure made for a good listen even if I didn’t find it believable lol. I really enjoyed this from the narration to the plot I enjoyed the humor the bickering between Daisy and Travis. This story takes off where book 1 stops. Daisy is having a hard time being a single mother she starts a blog on being a new mother with it getting out of control telling how wonderful being a mother and wife is. What a wonderful baby and husband she has. When it grabs so much attention a talk show wants to come interview her. Before she knows what she has done she has agreed wow she has really messed up and goes back and forwards whether she should go it or not. It doesn’t take long for things to get out of control first one things and then another happens. You will not believe all the bad luck one women can have as the author puts a few twists in the way spinning story of humor and mayhem.

The narration of Mr. Lawrence is outstanding as he brings the characters to life for me with his many wonderful character voices. I could really feel the frustration in Daisy as she comes to terms on her life what she wants, needs and desires along with a few home truths. Travis you can really feel what he is going through as he supports Daisy but uses a little blackmail to get what he wants. I really enjoyed all his characters voices. I am amazed that he knew which voice went to which character from book 1. His male voices are just as great as his female ones. He has the right tone for each emotion that you can really feel what each character is going through. I did not hear any background noise if any breaks were taken you could not tell. There was not anywhere the volume was higher or lower than the chapters before what he deliverers is a clear, clean audio that you really get into. Between him and the author they had me laughing out loud a few times. This is one narrator that can pull me in giving me a very highly entertaining listen that keeps me invested in the characters. I can’t wait to listen to more from this narrator I hope you will take the time to check out his work.

I did enjoy this I thought it was a little much but truly made a delightful story. It wasn’t long before I was taken in with the humor as the author takes you through each road block that comes their way. The throws a few surprises in. Not everything is coming up roses for this couple as it looks like the I do’s will be coming soon the author throws a twist that brings much pain. The past comes back to haunt Daisy in the worst way at the worse time. Not everyone here is likable there are a few you would like to harm, give them a piece of your mind as you drag them from the book to give them a taste of reality. I really loved seeing the past characters. That grandmother is up to her old tricks keeping you on your toes with her many over the top ways. You are so going to love this lady as you find what she keeps in her kitchen as well as around her home. I know I had my mouth fall open a few times as I laughed my way through shaking my head. My heart really went out to Daisy as I look back and remember my time of being a new mother. The author sure hits the emotions right on the head with the feelings of not being good enough, being too tired, the scream and so much more. The reason for the 4.5 stars is I can’t buy into Daisy really going through with the interview. The blog fantasy yes I can believe that but the rest no. It does make a very good listen and very entertaining with an audio I could not put down. Nothing wrong with a little fantasy. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I have I can’t wait to see what the next book in this series is all about.
