What would you do if an irresistibly desirable but utterly untouchable woman whispered to you, "If you want me, you'll have to come and get me?'" That's exactly the situation that Elliott Foster, CEO of Foster MacKenzie, finds herself in when she meets the alluring Lauren Collier, Chief Legal Counsel of a Fortune 500 company. Elliott never has a shortage of attractive women willing to share her bed, and she doesn't care if they are attracted to her or just her money. By her rules, if two women are attracted to each other there's no reason why they shouldn't spend the night together - or in some cases, the afternoon. Lauren, intriguing but decidedly off-limits, doesn't fit the mold and Elliot knows she should walk away. Instead she finds herself in the unusual position of pursuing another woman, and even more disconcertingly on Lauren's terms. Come and Get Me is a passionate, rollercoaster romance that's anything but predictable.

It really does seem as though the author wrote a novella, then added 2 or 3 hours to it and then repackaged it into a novel. Unfortunately nothing, or at least very little of substance was added to this hypothetical novella in those hours. There were far too many instances of long drawn out sex scenes; not the entertaining type, but the basic vanilla, middle of the road, your mother's or your grandmother's romance read/listen. The central crux of the story is quite good as female power executive Elliott Foster meets young attorney on the rise Lauren Collier. Suddenly temperatures are on the rise, loins are becoming moist, and the emergency fire alarm is blaring. Indeed if this had been a novella I think it would've been a five star special; as it is I barely gave it a three.

There's a Really Good Novella Here

The storyline was not bad, but the narrator had a cadence that ruined the listing. I will never buy an audiobook narrated by Heather Miles again!

Annoying narrator was distracting.

The story was actually pretty good. I wish I had purchased a print copy. (Sigh). The good about the narrator was that she did actually have some slightly different voices for the characters which is always helpful and entertaining. HOWEVER, when reading the narrators part of the book she had a VERY annoying and repetitive cadence that soured the whole performance. Imagine how annoying it would be if a "valley girl" were ready the part to you. I can't imagine why no one stopped the production after the first chapter and addressed it or demanded a replacement of talent. I almost didn't finish it because I was so annoyed by it. Too bad too cause the story is decent. Tip: re-record and re-release.

Narrator Alert

Enjoyed the writing, dialogue, and plot. The narrator, however, was awful. She sounded like she was reading a prompt from behind a local news desk. Her inflection and tone nearly made me turn the book off during the first chapter. If I hadn't been on a long drive with no internet signal to download another book, I would have.

Story arc and romance were well written enough to enjoy but the narrator was almost unbearable.

I found the narration to be annoying and got in the way of a decent story. Her inflection in certain cases seemed really off and made it difficult to listen to the entire story.
