This nice, brief story revolves around a house painter and his family trying to collect wages due. The customer and family is amazed at the audacity of the painter's wife.

This is true to life story that a lot of us "older folks" remember or have heard from our parents or grandparents.

Very Brief Snapshot Into Americana

Sciucco paints Daisy's world with deft, well-chosen details, and I was drawn in to the drama of the short story's central conflict.

Eibhlin reads the story beautifully, effortlessly switching between the child and adult voices, always tightly connected to the emotional import of the scenes she's narrating.

I look forward to more from both this author and this narrator!

Great narration of a fully present set of characters

COLLECTION was a neat little short story. I liked the perspective of the oldest of five children. The irony of the story was great. The mother goes to the woman's house to collect payment for her husband's work and the children go in to use the restroom. It turns out that Daisy, the oldest goes to school with the woman's daughter, who's sort of a bully.

With this being book 1, I hope MARIANNE SCIUCCO is going to make this into a series. I think it would be great. That or a collection of short stories.

EVELYN EIBHLIN's narration was fantastic. Her voice fit this story perfectly. Her performance was flawless.

A Wonderful Short Story by Talented Author

I enjoyed this book. To me I feel like the lady that owe the family was lying because she didn't want to pay them. It sucks that the girl bullies the other girl. And call her names because of the clothes she wears. Not everyone has money to afford Current clothes. The lady and her daughter act all stuck up judging that family. Its ashame that its still people out here that's like that. Only reason she paid them was because of their daughter from the doll. And its interesting that this book was a based on true story.

Would you listen to Collection again? Why?

I did listen to this twice already which was easy since its very short. I did really enjoy it and wanted to listen to the descriptions better the second time around - which I enjoy almost as much as a plot line

What other book might you compare Collection to and why?

My own diary as a kid. So many similarities!

Which scene was your favorite?

It basically was just one scene so all of it.

If you could rename Collection, what would you call it?

I rather like the name Collection. I wouldn't change it.

Any additional comments?

I would definitely buy the rest of the Collection. I loved the writing and story line and voice of the narrator."This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com."
