Rachel Keats and Jack McGill were artists, deeply in love when they married, until the rush of life took its toll and they divorced. Six years later, Jack puts aside his career as a leading architect to hold a bedside vigil at his ex-wife's hospital bed. Jack begins to see Rachel, his daughters, and the story of his marriage with new eyes. Coast Road celebrates those things in life that matter most - the companionship of friends and the irreplaceable time spent with children and family.

"The road to recovery for both Jack and Rachel makes for a heartwarming story." (Minneapolis Star Tribune)
This story is so well written, the timing in this book is perfect. Modern characters, that are rich with story. Each person so interesting. The flow and melody of this story just sings. I loved it, can you tell. The author did a fantastic job but even with that the wrong narrator can ruin it. Ms. Hicks...a solid "10". I applaud your work in this book. When you read "Victoria" I swear I could "see" her. That same attention was given to every character. I found myself talking to them. Amazing! This story develops like an archaeological find...the secrets working their way to the surface, so unpredictable.
Thank you everyone. This is treasure for sure.
This was a very heart warming book and totally enjoyed readying it. Its one you don't want to put down....... a story is so well written, and worth buying.
I am amazed by the differences of opinion when rating a book! I like Barbara Delinsky because she writes stories about couples that make their marriages work. They do the hard work and stay together or get back together. My favorite of her stories like this was Escape. This story was very believable and well played out. Jack is a great character. He gets his act together and realizes it's not all about him.
I enjoyed the narrator very much. She gave each character a voice and did a good job of it.
If you're looking for a riveting compelling story, this is not it. This is a fun escape from the day. Go sit outside with a glass of iced coffee and Coast Road on your iPod and relax!
