Great book.

If you could sum up Club Dead in three words, what would they be?

Sexy, mysterious and fun.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked Sookie fighting for her man, whatever it took. And the scenes with her and Alcide.

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

She always does a great job.

Who was the most memorable character of Club Dead and why?

Alcide, of course. I loved every time he stepped into the story.

Addictive

I enjoyed the HBO series so much I decided to read the whole series and I am pleasantly surprised. The books are much better than the HBO series. I look forward to book 9 and I hope audible has it when it comes out later this year.

Very addictive!

What made the experience of listening to Club Dead the most enjoyable?

I absolutely love these stories...I am already on book 7...can't get enough of them! I used to be on the fence about Sookie on True Blood but I now see how much Anna Paquin is really true to the character!

Another great book.

Have you listened to any of Johanna Parker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Johanna Parker"s performance was great. Didn't know if I could get use to the southern accent but it didn't take long for me to realize I worried over nothing.

Charlaine's Sookie Stackhouse is Kick Butt

This is clearly the start of a very bad addiction...Don't start if you can't handle the need to read!!!!!

A MODERN GIRLS' HEROINE FOR THE REST OF US!

I have set myself to listen to this entire series, prompted by a desire to understand the background for the series "True Blood". I have fallen in love with this heroine! First and foremost, she is a Southern heroine in the grandest tradition. Being from the South, I so recognize and appreciate the positive essence of the current Anglo female culture in the South she represents. She speaks the truth from woman's point of view, and stands strongly for the values we wish our daughters to hold. She holds our feet to the fire, though, as she encounters and examines the more negative ones. The strength and variety of the characters in even this short novel are masterfully written and delightfully performed in this recording. I haven't had as much fun since I raced through the Twilight Saga novels eager for each new encounter with a female heroine I wanted to be. Johanna Parker's interpretation and performance are brilliant!

Simply Fantastic

I have read all of the first 8 books in the series, and am anxiously awaiting book 9 coming out in May. The author has stated she is currently writing book 10 so more Sookie to come. This books takes us on a new spin in Sookie's love life, but one that I can promise just keeps getting more and more exciting as each book moves forward. I recently started purchasing them on audio because my husband is interested in the story, but not to actually read it. This is one of my favorite in the series. If you are new to the Sookie Stackhouse series, begin with Dead Until Dark and continue on from there. Don't read/listen to them out of order or you will lose so much. There are also many short stories and novellas about Sookie in other books that Charlaine Harris has co-authored with other writers, so look for those as well!

More wonderful fun!

The 3rd book of the series and I am SO enjoying this lively, charming and delightful journey through the world that Ms. Harris has created.

Once again, Johanna Parker is the perfect narrator and the humor, the sexiness and even the violence come alive (so to speak) with her voice.

I am loving all the characters, including Bubba. Please don't call him by his real name.

Werewolves are HOT!

Would you consider the audio edition of Club Dead to be better than the print version?

Not really. I like both reading and listening.

What did you like best about this story?

Sookie showing her strength and her drive.

Which scene was your favorite?

Sookie staking >>>> (Don't want to give up the plot, but it was so "Gotcha Beotch!")

If you could rename Club Dead, what would you call it?

Rescue

Any additional comments?

I know Harris was using this as a way to move Sookie forward to other relationships, but I hated it just the same.
