Great Story and Great Characters

Loved learning about fire jumpers and loved the stories of love, murder and life as a jumper. Love Nora's writing of characters and so much food in it that it made me hungry every time I listened.

Loved, loved, loved it!!!! I have to be up at 7:30 am. yet I HAD to finish this. It's 2:30 am. Worth it!

Holds your interest till the end

Action packed with plenty of adventure. Nice that the author and editor took the time to make it believable with proper terminology and nuances of the job of smoke jumper. It parallels some of the life I lived for 30 years with a major fire department in California.

Engaging and entertaining

At times I avoid book because I'm not particularly drawn to the topic - but after many good reviews and seeing the book turn up often, I'm persuaded.

Chasing Fire, like most of Nora Roberts' books, is a solid story line with passion and suspense built in. I enjoyed the characters and the narrator.

One of my favorites so far. I want to find a "Gull". Romantic and exciting.Great narrator! Definitely recommend to others.

Rebecca Lowman nailed the narration

I couldn't have come close to narrating this great story anywhere close to the perfection that Rebecca Lowman demonstrated with this book. This is the first Nora Roberts book I've had the pleasure of "reading" and it rocked! I'm in my late 30's. The mixture of mid 20's romance mixed with mid 50's romance was perfect. The burn of the Missoula fires cooled by the casual and raw attitude and desire of Rowan and Gulliver. Love it! Thank you Nora and Rebecca.

A SPECIAL BREED

Gave me an appreciation for the men and women who fight fires. Good story. I always like a lot of twists and turns!

First Nora Roberts Book ever.

Maybe; Because I would want to hear some sappy story.

Would you be willing to try another book from Nora Roberts? Why or why not?

I did after this book, but it was an Abridged version. Basically, from what I can tell from Nora Roberts's writing- everyone who she wants you to like is Perfect. They say the right thing, have the perfect job, and are amazingly handsome or beautiful, and so on...

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Lowman – was your favorite?

Gulliver Curry. She makes a convincing guy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have several eye rolls- and "come on" reactions.

Any additional comments?

Overall, it was cheesy. But the Narrator did a great job. Please keep in mind I have listened to all sorts- from Jojo Moyes, to Joshilyn Jackson, Charlaine Harris and Gillian Flynn and Nicholas Sparks. And my All time Favorite is Pride and Prejudice. This was my first Nora Roberts book, and I'm not sold completely on the perfect characters yet. However, I do love Happy endings!!
