Publisher's summary

When curvy Destiny tells Carter she is accidentally pregnant, she doesn't expect him to be thrilled. After all, they haven't discussed any kind of future, and children have never come up. She could handle his shock and dismay, but is unprepared for his accusation that she cheated on him. Leaving New York City and Carter behind, she returns to her hometown to figure out what to do next. Meanwhile, Carter has discovered he made a huge mistake and goes after her, but she refuses to return with him to the city. He's determined to wait her out and settles into life in small-town Kansas as he works on wearing her down and earning her forgiveness. Can he ever make up for the things he said and win her back, or will he futilely chase Destiny forever?

Narrator issues

Destiny tells Carter she pregnant and he goes straight to gold-digger accusations. She flees for herself and her baby only to be followed later by a sorry Carter. This was a ride in watching the two of them find out about each other and themselves.

Narration issues about caused me to end the read early. I was aggravated by the fact the it could have been better. The narrators efforts did not match that of the writing. It was trying and the narration was a let down.

Feels like an old harlequin novel

The book was pretty good. It reminded me of an old harlequin novel except with a black woman heroine. There was not a lot of depth to the story but it was sweet, short and a little hot. The narrator was kinda bad and it made it very difficult to get into the story.

Language and sexual discriptions ruins story

When I look for books under inspirational fiction or romance I expect to find book and stories that have clean language and definitely not a description of sexual intimacy leaning towards if not flat out pornography. I'm not naive enough to think that intimacy doesn't take place in romance. Preferably after marriage however regardless it doesn't require detailed , pornographic description in a book that's under the heading inspirational anything.

His Destiny

I liked the whole book and concept. Carter didn't think to question a twenty year old diagnosis and thought he could never father a child. What he said to Destiny was heartbreaking and I cried along with her. Great story.

Alright read

Even though I knew the book was short, I can't be shocked by the storyline. I'm hesitant about reading the next book if there is one.

Like story line, but the one sex scene sucked

I did like the story, but wished it could have been a couple hours longer to develop the second chance part of the love story more, and more detail about the sex scene. I expected more than one sex scene, and I expected the sex scene to be a little more detail. I know all the readers are adults, but I read and listen to books for pleasure. So when it gets to sex, I want it explain to me like I know nothing about it. What does his shaft look like, how the kiss, and describe how the the clothes came off. I was suggested this book, and this is my first book from this author. I am not sure if I will purchase another one unless I know there is more that one sex scene and it is detailed. The author should read one of Delaney Diamond books, she is very good at detailing her sex scenes. I became a fan of her books, when it was suggested to me in another Amazon purchase. And now I am a Delaney Diamond fan. This Mia Caldwell, not so much but if she take her sex scenes to the next level. She will be great.

Boring read

What disappointed you about Chasing Destiny?

It was a boring and drawn out read. No build-up, no chemistry between the characters. I felt there was no point to the book.

What was most disappointing about Mia Caldwell’s story?
