Publisher's summary

From the author of The Power of One comes an inspiring human drama and war story of three lives brought together and changed forever by the extraordinary events of recent history. Inspired by real events, Bryce Courtenay's new novel tells the story of three people from vastly differing backgrounds. All they have in common is a tough beginning in life. Jack McKenzie is a harmonica player, soldier, dreamer, and small-time professional fisherman from a tiny island in Bass Strait. Nicole Lenoir-Jourdan is a strong-willed woman hiding from an ambiguous past in Shanghai. Larger than life, Private Jimmy Oldcorn was once a street kid and leader of a New York gang. Together, they reap a vast and not always legitimate fortune from the sea. Narrated by celebrated, award-winning actor Humphrey Bower.

Just Great!

What an outstanding Audio Book! I generally listen to action books, i.e. Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy etc. I find these very entertaining and I didn’t think I would go in for a drama type book. This book has it all! I would also like to say that the narrator is by far the best I have ever listened to, bar none! I have purchased over 200 audio books by some great authors and narrators and I place this book as number one. Listen to it and I’m sure you will agree.

AWESOME!!

Would you listen to Brother Fish again? Why?

Bryce Courtenay is without doubt one of my very favorite authors and Humphrey Bowers reads even more reality into an already mesmerizing story. I doubt that Courtenay has ever penned a character other than unique and in

A long but engrossing book

A bit long-winded in places but a sensational story and insight into the planet we live on and it’s history. I love the way Bryce Courtney is so detailed and correct with his facts and brings to light The actual happenings in different times and places in the heart ache of man’s inhumanity to man and men rising above this to become successful and caring people. He really knows men and women and what they are about. One can learn a lot from his books as I do and did from this one as well as love the story and characters. The narrator is amazing being able to do many accents and types of people. Humphrey Bower is a master in its own right.

What an awesome journey!

I loved this book. The storyteller was magical with his use of so many different voices. Leading the listener across continents and decades through the the lives of the main characters ....couldn't wait to hear more, yet not wanting the story to end!
