Publisher's Summary

This is the story of Brida, a young Irish girl, and her quest for knowledge. She has long been interested in various aspects of magic but is searching for something more. Her search leads her to people of great wisdom, who begin to teach Brida about the spiritual world.

She meets a wise man who dwells in a forest, who teaches her about overcoming her fears and trusting in the goodness of the world, and a woman who teaches her how to dance to the music of the world, and how to pray to the moon.

As Brida seeks her destiny, she struggles to find a balance between her relationships and her desire to become a witch.

This enthralling novel incorporates themes that fans of Paulo Coelho will recognize and treasure. It is a tale of love, passion, mystery, and spirituality from the master storyteller.

    "Brida"

This was a simple book, easy to listen to and follow along. It is in the same category as The Alchemist, in terms of content, so if you liked The Alchemist, you'll probably appreciate this book. I would recommend for fans of this author.

    "Excellent read!"

I loved this book and found myself randomly stopping the narration to contemplate the ideologies and spiritual concepts presented therein. This is a lovely story that encourages us to view the world with a different set of eyes and openness to the less obvious aspects of our existence in the universe. If you are a Paulo Coelho fan, you don't want to miss this one.

    "Not for me"

I did not enjoy this book in fact I had a hard time finishing it. The characters left me cold and the story line was ragged. I felt the author was trying to combine a philosophy with a novel and neither clearly presented, It just never worked for me.

"Enjoyable story - music mix at chapter breaks is awkward"

Being a fan of the Alchemist, I was eager to enjoy Brida. The narration is well done. Unfortunately, there are music "bumpers" or transitions at the end and beginning of chapters that are mixed too "hot" and distract from the narration of the story. Would be nice if the publisher fixed and rerelease this title to owners.

Along with the alchemist reading those 2 books transfers you to euphoric stage of not nostalgic but rather top of the mountain isolation feel .. From there our mind is clear ...
