"Phillips has created a very modern and textured tale: witty, moving, passionate and tender." (Publishers Weekly)
"Stunningly vivid descriptions and some of her most complex protagonists to date." (Library Journal)
Another good book from SEP.This is the 5th book from her I have read. Funny, sexy & witty. I travel a lot, it kept me entertained and took the drudgery out of driving.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
Good old fashion core romance
our hero of course, when he has tea with the two little girls, hence the headline
This is the late great Ms Anna Fields as an AKA. "It Had to be YOU" is her all time best.
Audible, please get any and all of Ms Fields AKA recordings as in Kate Fleming.
If you are looking for sex scenes, you will probably like this book. I enjoy an occasional sex scene, but this is not really my style. Not much of a story here either. This woman is trying to liberate her sexual being. But I get embarrassed for her and that's not sexy.
While the setting (Tuscany) cannot be beat the characters where horribly trite - I actually found it almost painful to listen to. The nicey, and annoyingly religious heroine was just boring - totally lacking in personality and the plot line that allowed her to psychoanalyze the screwed-up-for-no-reason hero was thin, at best.
As long as your expectations aren't extremely high (like, groundbreaking novel high), you'll thoroughly enjoy this book. It's a bit silly at times, but I still really liked it! And there are some very steamy parts! Whoo!
I am an SEP fan and have many of her audiobooks. I enjoyed this one about half way through and then it just got silly.
I've just started listening to her books, while I have loved them all I was disappointed with this one. I normally fall in love with the heroine but this one I thought was a spoiled brat who just went on about psychology, rather frustrating. The actor was just as annoying. I love the witty dialogue that SEP writes but I could find none of that here.
I guess I should go back to the football stories.
I enjoy all Susan Elizabeth Phillips books. Characters are well developed. The humor and sizzle are so great together. She never fails to have me laughing out loud as I read or listen. Favorites have been the ones dealing with the Chicago Stars Football team but this one was just as good in my opinion.
I am a big Susan Phillips fan! While I alway enjoy her stories and characters, this was one of my favorites. The charaters were funny and had great lines.I laughed out loud often. I recommend this to you if you like fun, contemporary romance!
I have so many of ms Phillips books that I listen to over and over again. This one, probably not. The narrator, as always was great, the storyline slow. Too many characters to get interested in, I am not sure that last comment made sense. Don't miss this author's Chicago Star's series!
