Hall (Six Feet Under) was narrating it for Audible, I jumped at the chance to listen. Capote's classic is simultaneously darker and more wistful than the film, and the famed Holly Golightly a little more calculating than charming. Michael C. Hall delivers a mesmerizing performance, giving each character their own unique voice. Hall's cadence perfectly matches Capote's words, and he forced me into my own whirlwind friendship with Holly. Marvelous
Michael C. Halls voice is deep and dark as we know from dexter... but in this book he portrayed the characters perfectly. He didn't even sound like a man when portraying Holly go lightly. And his transition was seamless. Great story. Quick. Sad and depressing.. but also hopeful and dreamy... and true. Everyone knows how it feels to be inbetween dreams, scared and unsure of where to go next.

Let down
I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who is a huge fan of the movie, having seen it countless times. Don't waste your time on this book unless you come to it with a fresh perspective and open mind, because it's much darker than the movie. Definitely worth a read for Capote fans but it's a good thing this was short, otherwise I definitely would have given up before I got halfway through.

Wonderful!
I can’t believe it took me so long to read this book. It’s so well known that I somehow thought I must have read it but I suppose I was confusing it with the movie. The narration is excellent and I highly recommend it.

Wonderful story and excellent narration
Michael C Hall does a great job narrating this short, nostalgic, sad story by Truman Capote. Holly Golightly is both a caricature and very very real; her brief relationship with the narrator brings vivacity and drama to his lonely life.

Hall does it best
i have trouble avoiding that I'm listening to a Capote rather than Dexter driving in his car for his next kill, but Hall does a great job bringing these wonderful characters to life. the story itself is great and if you've read it before you know what you are getting into, moreover Hall only adds to the narrative which is all you can ask for
