With works that embody the soaring spirit and gritty allure of the famed Ralph Compton novels, Joseph A. West captures the full flavor of the West with his hard-hitting tales.
John Tone is a ruthless bounty hunter willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Once he’s set his sights on someone, that fugitive’s as good as caught. But when he encounters a cunning criminal from the Barbary Coast, the tables are turned.

Although I don't like violence, and it was a violent story, the author related the gore in the best possibe way, without going into TOO much detail. In fact, I like Joseph West's writing style better than any I've listen to lately. He does not bore with unnecessary details just to fill pages/time like many seem to do, but gets right to the point. He tells a story that can be easily followed while keeping your interest, and no-doubt portrayed the historical setting accurately. If I'd known it was as violent as it was I would not have bought it, but I'm glad I did.
The narrator gave a great performance.
I'd like to hear more from this author and narrator. I'd like to hear a follow-up story on the "Bounty Hunter".
