Publisher's summary

Kagen Silivasi is a powerful, ancient vampire with a unique gift for healing - he is also a son, a brother, and a loner who has survived unspeakable tragedy and loss. Beneath his handsome, well-mannered exterior lies an alter ego consumed by rage and an overwhelming impulse to "kill them all"....

Arielle Nightsong is a brave human, a rebel spirit, and an accomplished healer in her own right. Born into a harsh world of violence, cruelty, and danger, she was enslaved at the age of 10 and given as a gift to the most depraved being in Mhier - the infamous king of the lycans. If not for her enduring friendship with a captive vampire, she might not have survived to escape the slave encampment...or to discover her mysterious role in an ancient blood curse.

When Kagen and his brothers voyage into Mhier in search of their long lost father, it will take more than stealth and cunning to get out alive: Secrets will be revealed, loyalties will be tested, and an indomitable spirit will fracture beneath the weight of an impossible choice.

Blood Father is where destiny and duty collide.

SIMPLY EPIC!!!

Epic is the only word I can use to describe this book. The storyline is epic. The milestone for the Silivasi family is powerful, gripping, and epic. The clash between enemies (lycans and vampires) has been coming for quite some time, and Tessa made it epic. And the main characters' journey of self-discovery and the way they finally come together is just...plain...epic. This book is a keeper. To be read again and again.

Eric's narration was also, as you may have guessed, epic. He brought it all to life in full living color.

Grreeaattttttttttt!

Man is this series good! Each story keeps getting better and better! I haven't enjoyed a series like this in a while. This book continues by telling how the Silivasi brothers go on a rescue mission to retrieve their missing father from the lycans. It turns out Kagen Silivasi, the youngest brother, was there when his father was taken from the vampire realm. He was so traumatized from fighting to save his father his soul (kind of) split and his sprite became dark. This caused him to become withdrawn. Kagen's back story touched my heart and I found myself very happy when he met Arielle Nightsong, a human slave and rebel, who had grown up in the lycans realm. I was glad they found each other and were able to make it back to earth's realm together. The brothers got their father back and managed to kill the leader of the lycans.

Eric Dove does a bang up job as always and he really brings the story to life. I also found myself smiling when he sang the lyrics to "Unchanged Melody". It was really sweet. I think this was the last book available in this series on audible, and I can't wait to hear the next chapter. We will be picking up the story with Ramsey Olaru finding his destiny in the reluctant human woman Tiffany Matthews.

Well worth the credit! Can't wait for the next book and I hope Eric Dove continues to read for this series.

NOTHING SHORT OF A MASTERPIECE

I thought Blood Redemption was my favorite...until now. This story just has it all. A troubled hero whose wounds run deep, a strong female lead who has survived the unimaginable and a game changing battle between species that has been brewing for a really long time. Heart break. Revenge. Self-discovery. Brotherhood. Edge of your seat suspense...and family, family, FAMILY. WOW! Blood Father is nothing short of a masterpiece, and the narrator does it justice.

One of the very best stories I have ever heard

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Father to be better than the print version?

This is a tough question because Blood Father is my favorite of the series, the print version was absolutely amazing but, to have this story come to life through audio was phenomenal. So better? not so much as complimentary to the print version,

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kagen Silivasi touched my soul in the first book, Blood Destiny. As the stories have unfolded throughout the other books my connection to him has strengthened. His story is one of such immense pain and darkness, the backstory left me heartbroken for him and to see Kagen come out the other side stronger and happy, I will admit, I cried happy tears.

What about Eric G. Dove’s performance did you like?

Eric has the inate ability to bring the characters to life in a way that sticks with you. I cannot imagine hearing anyone else do this series.

If you could take any character from Blood Father out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Keitaro Silivasi, I would love to hear all about the Silivasi boys as children lol.

Any additional comments?

Is this book dark and intense? Yes! Does it have gore and death? Yes! Is it for the faint of heart? No! But for anyone that enjoys and exceptional story with characters unlike any other book you will not be disappointed. There is humor, loyalty, love and a scene that is quite possibly the most poignantly beautiful moment I have ever read or heard. Worth every penny and then some.

Spoilers-
Wow I love this series! Even through all the battles, fighting, tension, hardships and sorrow of this series I still come away in awe of Tessa's writing! It speaks to me somewhere below the surface and deep into my heart! I feel the emotions and best of all the feelings of love of family. Honor and duty!! I connect with it somehow!
For years I have loved Nathaniel but, I believe he will have to step aside now that we have had Kagen's story! Wow- sweet and charming, caring, a healer, freed from his demons now he and Rielle will be able to heal each other. Even in all the misery he found it in his heart to hold and comfort Rielle to bring her a small amount of peace. I love the fact that she will be able to acquire all his knowledge and not have to stress over being thrown into this realm in present day.
They were able to find answers to her demons and bring the healing to the now, by naming their baby after a brother and a father!
I was not so freaked out this time by the demon child having to be sacrificed... somehow I knew it was all going to work out.
Arielle faced all these new challenges with a brave, warriors heart and now has the comfort of family and home.
I believe she has finally come home!!!!!! I cant wait to hear more about her and their father, of there struggles and all that they overcome as family, together! Both free to heal and move on in love!
Tessa you Nailed it!
You are one of three of my top, favorite authors of all time!
Thank you for you stories and Vampires that BITE!
Cant wait for the next installment.......

New world, same incredible story telling

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely. Well, I would suggest a friend to start at the beginning of the series and then listen to this book. It is a truly engaging story. Filled with a fantasy land like no other.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that the brothers were taken out of their world to somewhere new and foreign to them. It really let each character shine.

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have. So far I have listened to him read the previous books in this series. I think with each book, his narration gets stronger and stronger. I really enjoy him as a narrator.

If you could take any character from Blood Father out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Braiden. I think this story was his turning point. HIs time where he turned into a bit of a man. He was charming, brave, and loyal. I look forward to seeing his character continue to develop.

Any additional comments?

I was engaged from beginning to end. I genuinely enjoyed the new landscape, and generally everything this story had to offer. A definite powerhouse of a story added to this already exceptional series.

Great story paired with perfect narration

I love to read and I have done so to the detriment of my eye sight….but luckily, and to the rescue there are audiobooks. The next hurdle I found myself in was finding great stories read by really good narrators. I would love it if I found more woman narrators that could read some of my favorite stories with the same punch and slam dunk as narrators like Phil Gigante, or Jim Frangione…but unfortunately I find many of their narration performances to be.. Breathy, flat and missing the mark in the art of pausing because the story calls for it, and not because there is a coma on the page. It has made me cringe and turn off many awesome stories I have already read and hoped would be a great listen.

I have listened to Eric Dove do J.R Wards Fallen Angel Series, and Tina Folsom’s Scanguard Vampires and loved them…but the combination of Tessa Dawn’s writing in the Blood Curse series paired with Eric Dove’s narration is Freak-en Awesome.

I am not going to waste time telling the premise of the story, because others have already done that. I will say that I have laughed, cried and been pissed off at some of the characters as if I was sitting in front of a screen watching this crazy story play out. I have had to pull my car over because I was laughing so hard at Marquis Silivasi scaring the HELL out of what was left of a biker gang on his front lawn in book two “Blood Awakening” .

It is a combination of good writing and great narration….. read to perfection. I cannot wait until another one is released. Great job Ms. Dawn and Eric Dove….damn…he hits this story out of the park and it will be ruined if anyone else takes over this story. There are not many narrators who can read a story so well that they make you forget about the person reading the story and transport you into the story. Jump on this series you will love it.

Blood Father stuns in its epic brilliance

What made the experience of listening to Blood Father the most enjoyable?

Blood Father's characters were epic enough in the e-book version. However, they came to life even more deeply in the audio version, as fresh "blood" was breathed into the story. It's depth and brilliance is simply epic. Blood Father is the stuff of movies – GOOD movies.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Father?

To take this book and break it down into a single, memorable moment doesn't do Blood Father justice. Let's compare it to the swells of the sea. One moment being so tender that the reader wants to shed tears. Another moment being so brutal it's hard to visualize. And yet another moment involving the patriarch, Keitaro Silivasi, prompted the reader – me – to hit the pause button, followed by replaying the entire chapter.

Which character – as performed by Eric G. Dove – was your favorite?

I've followed Kagen's story since Blood Destiny, book #1 in Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse Series. But to learn THIS about him was heartbreaking, cardiovascular valves and all! This character's vulnerability that Eric G. Dove was able to emote is simply stunning.

If you could take any character from Blood Father out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I would like to interview the main "heroine," Arielle, and ask her to share her experiences about transitioning from one world to the other. I'd like to understand what it feels like to experience such love between "destinies." And finally, I would like to physically "see" her expression when discussing Keitaro.

Any additional comments?

My advice is to listen to the audio book in its entirety, and then do what I did: re-read the ebook version. Why? Because the story is so layered, so enjoyable, so emotionally-driven that one would benefit from experiencing it from different mediums. It's THAT good.

The blood bond between families is everything

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Father to be better than the print version?

I prefer holding books in my hand and devouring them page by page but Blood Father is astounding in its emotional capabilities. I found myself completely rivited by the intensity and heart ache

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Father?

Saber telling the Silivasi brothers that their father did in fact live

Which character – as performed by Eric G. Dove – was your favorite?

Kagen came to the forefront for me in this story. Absolutely harrowing what he had to deal with and the pressure to bring his Father home, immense

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Blood knows no end

Any additional comments?

Tessa Dawn has blown me away with Blood Father, it explained so much that we had yet to be explained in the entire series. Astounding!
