Publisher's summary

Welcome to Blackwood Farm: soaring white columns, spacious drawing rooms, sun-drenched gardens, and a dark strip of the dense Sugar Devil Swamp. This is the world of Quinn Blackwood, a brilliant young man haunted since birth by a mysterious doppelganger, a spirit known as Goblin, a spirit from a dream world that Quinn can't escape. When Quinn is made a vampire, his doppelganger becomes even more vampiric and terrifying than Quinn himself.

As the novel moves backward and forward in time, from Quinn's boyhood on Blackwood Farm to present-day New Orleans, from ancient Athens to 19th-century Naples, Quinn seeks out the legendary Vampire Lestat in the hope of freeing himself from the specter that draws him inexorably back to Sugar Devil Swamp and the explosive secrets it holds.

A story of youth and promise, of loss and the search for love, of secrets and destiny, Blackwood Farm is Anne Rice at her mesmerizing best.

A Little Slow

I love this series. Most I cannot stop listening too, this one I found hard to keep listening too. Not sure why, just found the story long and drawn out, boring at times and just not interesting. Likely just me. Other than the the story is solid and easy to follow. My least favorite of the series for sure, but still a great book.

amazing!

David IS Tarquin Blackwood! He does such an amazing job with not only Quin but the accents and inflections of other characters. I became so engulfed in the story, perfect as usual Anne Rice!

David Pittu made the book come alive

I have read this book, but struggled with it. I love Anne Rice so wanted to finish the book. David Pittu performed amazingly. I hope to have occasion to hear him again.

Great Book

this is a really good book, the narrators voice and accent are appropriate for the book which is important, the wrong voice and really throw off the feel of a book, this is one that i read a few years ago ,it was as good to listen to as it was to read. highly recommend.

Best yet!

Bravo!! Bravo on the story, the content, and the telling. The narration and performance is absolutely excellent!! David Pittu may have just surpassed Mr. Vance (although, I have truly missed Simon Vance's narration. Do not doubt, I can't wait to hear that voice melting into my ears again, xx). Ok. I have to go, so I can start Blood Canticle.
