Publisher's summary

"Danger Lorelei, he's coming." Icy whispers brush against her cheeks when she's sleeping. Most nights she wakes to the voices of her ancestors, always at 2:47 a.m. Like all monsters, only the light keeps them at bay.

Lorelei Huntington knows what it means to fall for the wrong guy. She knows what it's like to hide in the dark and wait for the light to save her. She knows how it feels to watch while everyone you love and everything in your life is taken. After 50 years of looking over her shoulder and running for her life, certain she could feel his breath at the base of her neck, the icy voices come back. Again their whispers find her vulnerable and exhausted, just as they used to. Fearful of seeing him again but desperate for answers, she goes home. What she finds isn't exactly what she left. Who she finds isn't exactly dead or aged a day. But then again, neither is she. Blackwater: Mature content warning.

fun, frustrating, and waiting

I believe the book did exactly what it was ment to do, kept you coming back for more. Constantly wondering what was going on, frustrated cause she doesn't act lthe way I thought she should. I enjoyed it, because it did touch on all my emotions. Also, love the açcents.

Good Boring Good

Maybe I was expecting more from this book. It started out good (not great) then it got super boring but ended pretty good.

Annoying Character

Lorelei is annoying in this book. Her reluctance to hear his side of the story/ explanation of the events that changed her life, and then after finally finding out he’s not really to blame for the issues, her behavior is beyond childish. Really hated this version of the book.

Terrible narration

Skip it unless you’re into teen vampire novels. The narrator is just awful to endure.

Barely a Roses novel

I don’t really know how I feel about this one. The first third was awesome and then it becomes angsty and frustrating. It’s hard to relate to the main character. I found it weird that she writes another character named Luke into the story. She couldn’t think of another name especially since Luke is a main in the story of the Roses? It was odd. I want to read another In hopes that it goes back to the current storyline.

Incomplete

This book seemed like a very long and drawn out introduction to someone who could potentially be the next rose. But it only teases and never gets close. I’m finished with this book and other than a short cameo, I’m still not sure how it connects to the Devils Roses or the Redeemers.
