#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

No one knows you like your sister. She can make you laugh or break your heart with a single word. And no one writes novels like Kristin Hannah, an author who vividly explores the intricate bonds of family and, as Tami Hoag said “touches the deepest, most tender corners of our heart.” Now, in her rich, captivating new book, she creates an indelible portrait of two women, once lost to each other, about to come together in a time of exquisite joy and almost unbearable sadness. Sisters by blood, strangers by choice, each stands at a crossroads, ready to confront the betrayals of the past....

BETWEEN SISTERS

Meghann Dontess is a woman haunted by heartbreak. Twenty-five years ago she was forced to make a terrible choice, one that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Now, Meghann is a hotshot divorce attorney who doesn’t believe in intimacy - until she meets the one man who can change her mind.

Claire Cavenaugh has fallen in love for the first time in her life. As her wedding day approaches, she prepares to face her harsh, judgmental older sister and their self-absorbed mother. It is the first time they have been together in more than two decades. Over the course of a hot Pacific Northwest summer, these three women who believe they have nothing in common will try to become what they never were: a family.

Tender, funny, bittersweet, and wonderfully moving, Between Sisters celebrates the joys and heartaches that can only be shared by sisters, the mistakes made in the name of love and the healing power of new beginnings - all beautifully told by acclaimed author Kristin Hannah.

Too cutesy Unrealistic

I just found this story to be unbelievable. Everything wrapped up in a pretty bow. Just boiler plate blah of a story. It was disappointing, I've read two of Kristin Hannahs other books and enjoyed them (The Nightingale and The Great Alone) but this one is very below par by comparison. The narration was great though.

Not one of her best books.

I love Kristen Hannah's books but I wasnt really a fan of this one. it was a bit predictable and ho hum. I will continue to read other books of hers though as she does produce fabulous reads. I struggled with the voice of the little girl and a couple of the other characters. each to their own. I'm sure other people will enjoy her but not for me I'm afraid.

Great book but...

I really wish I would have read instead of listening on Audible. The narrator was not great with accents or when talking like a child. The setting is in the Northwest and felt that the accent was a mixed between Wisconsin and Alabama. I live in Alabama btw so not making fun of the South! It was annoying actually especially when she played the child. Once I started listening I was drawn to the story but the voice drove me crazy. Sorry!

Not my favorite Kristin Hannah

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I have been enjoying many of Kristin Hannah's books on audible. I think the major problem with this one was the narrator. I was not a fan of the various voices used to tell the story.

If you’ve listened to books by Kristin Hannah before, how does this one compare?

I did not find the plot as interesting.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Laural Merlington?

Unfortunately, no.

Love the story vs bad reader

Would you listen to Between Sisters again? Why?

No the reader was awful. Had problem remembering the voice assigned to each character

What did you like best about this story?

The ending

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Laural Merlington?

Anybody else would have been better. Hannah should of used some else.

If you could rename Between Sisters, what would you call it?

Perfect title

Disappointed

This is not up to KH's talent. The story is so vaguely familiar - kind of like Firefly Lane with a bit more likeable characters - just a bit. The narration was mediocre at best, and I attached to only two characters, Clare and her father, who was so minor that I cannot remember his name. Sam? Probably not. Could not wait for the very predictable ending.

I don't recommend. It is going back.

Love Kristen Hanna but

This was not my favorite of hers - not in the Sam category as Nightingale or Four Winds.
