Publisher's summary

Things are falling apart in the Richardson household. Angry arguments between Celine and her husband, Keith, have become routine. She resents that he's working long hours and staying out all night, and he accuses her of not giving him the attention he deserves. Their marriage is at a crossroads, and Celine worries how her 10-year-old daughter, Kassie, will be affected.

But the situation turns devastating when Celine is diagnosed with breast cancer. As her relationship with Keith deteriorates, Celine worries that she'll be left to navigate the difficult process of cancer treatment alone. But comfort and support come in the form of Celine's best friend, Lauren. They've been attached at the hip since they were children, and it is Lauren who's there for Celine in her darkest moments.

Now Celine will be forced to make tough decisions - about her marriage and otherwise - and for the first time in her life, she wants to give up. Lauren vows to help by any means necessary and makes the kind of sacrifice only a best friend can. But will it be too late?

A bit rushed

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes ..the ending was rushed as if author remembered it was a novella and wanted to wrap it up

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This novella should have been made it a novel.

What does Maria Howell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator was excellent..actually the reason I gave a decent rating

Do you think Best Friends Forever needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No need the main character is forgettable.

Any additional comments?

I expected more from author..disappointed..I actually pre-ordered.

Decent Read

What did you love best about Best Friends Forever?

I liked the plot because one element thrown into the mix made the scenario seem like more than a typical marital problem.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lauren - simply because of her consistency and reliability, though perhaps to a fault. However, those are traits most people want in a close friend.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration matched the pace, but narrator sounded a bit unnatural and robotic at times. Very inconsistent compared to her reading in another Roby novel I've listened to.

If you could rename Best Friends Forever, what would you call it?

Do Unto Others

Any additional comments?

This is my first time reading a novella by Roby. While I have enjoyed all of her novels, this novella ended too abruptly and seemed to be missing something. This would have been better as a novel.

Horrible and a waste of time.

basically she turned a paragraph into a book. the characters where annoying and needed. the husband cheated life her for another women with for no reason while she had cancer and wanted to come back she took him back to find out the mistress left him because he slept with a co worker and was fired she kicked him out again and her best friend paid her bills the end. the wife had no back bone and made her a desperate needy person. the child was just annoying wasted a whole paragraph repeating the same line to the point of annoyance. she compared her husband to Hitler but yet she's begging him to stay and takes him back. basically I continued listening because I waiting for the good part which never came it was dull and predictable and most of all boring and uninspiring. she must have had a deadline because clearly this book was thrown together and I will be returning this trash for a refund I'm so annoyed I won't be reading anymore books from this author ,

Relatable

I loved this book. Well written book that brings out all the emotions and tears. Kimberla embodies what a true friend really is who sticks closer than a sister or brother.
