Michael feels trapped. In his conservative, poor hometown where he has to keep his sexuality hidden. In his dead-end job. In caring for his alcoholic grandfather. Everything changes when he meets Eric, the new curator for the railroad museum. His curiosity about the passionate man quickly gives way to an intense attraction - one that Eric happily returns.
Carefree and refreshingly confident, Eric guides Michael to places he's forgotten, reminding him that it may not be too late to follow his dreams for something more in life. But the truth is, Eric knows exactly how it feels to be stuck in a bad situation. A failed relationship has left him with personal demons that may hurt his connection with Michael.
To give their future a chance, they both must fight being trapped in the past.

This is a good tale of overcoming self-inflicted obstacles to journey into becoming the one you are suppose to be. The 3 1/2 stars does not imply that this is not a well worth story, but that it was an alright story about two men who are trapped by their own design based on experience and how each help the other to realize the possible potential. I am not sure that I liked the character Michael (perhaps a bit to brooding for me) but I sure could relate to him on many levels. Eric's character was written in such a way that he almost came off as condescending, which would explain a certain part of the story, but I will admit that as I listened, I wondered about the possibility of my own Eric. Pap and Maggie were great extras and though the story was about Michael and Eric overcoming their past, I wanted to know if Pap's and Maggie hooked up. All-n-all, not a great book but not a bad one either. I would recommend this book!
This was just an OK uncomplicated book about learning to believe in yourself. Pretty predictable but not a bad listen if on sale. The writing is solid and the romance very sweet. Could have been more, but it is a short story.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
This seemed like it was going to be a great m/m romance...but I got bored halfway thru and skipped to the end... Overall it's more like a 2.5 but... since you have to give it full stars... I will settle for a 3 based on other m/m romance on Audible... This is decent...but not great... Good but not wonderful...
This is a pass the time away waiting on another book to come out story...
Narration was good. Actually, this is best Robert Black narration I have listen too..
