New author for me

This is the first book from Gist & Bertrand that I’ve listened to. But it won’t be my last! This book had heart pounding suspense and several twists and turns! Kept me guessing until just before the end!

odd

Any additional comments?

this was an odd book. I didn't mind the story, it wasn't exactly edge of your seat thriller or anything. The romance was kind of thrown into the mix but not developed to the extent that you would really think they were madly in love. It was read okay and written fine enough to be a light entertaining, unbelievable type tale. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it but also wouldn't say not to listen.

Slow in the Beginning, Rushed at the End

This is a pretty good book, the reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the story is kinda of slow at the beginning, but not too slow as to make me want to stop listening but slow enough that if a missed a few seconds or minutes of the story I didn't worry about about rewinding it to see of I missed anything. To me the ending was very rushed. It seemed like only the last two chapters addressed rapping the story up. All in all it is worth a credit and it is an enjoyable story.

Great Team Writing and Narrator

I picked this book because I enjoy DeAnna Gist’s historical. Good writing in any genre makes a good read and this is. Bertrand’s influence on the book are woven in seamlessly. The plot is believable and who done it isn’t revealed until the end. Well done. I just hope Gist will continue writing her historical romance books.
