Publisher's summary

"As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me...."

Memories define us.

So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?

Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight.

And the one person you trust may be telling you only half the story.

Welcome to Christine's life.

Couldn’t stop listening!

I loved this book! 50 First Dates vibe but dark. Had me from the first few pages. The narrator was easy to listen to. She sounded as though she was the main character. The confusion, terror, and questions seemed like hers and not from the pages of a book. I would listen to this one again!

When the Narrator makes the book better

Idling the car in the driveway for a few more minutes of the story is the biggest compliment a reader can give an audiobook. Orlagh Cassiy's amazing voice got me listening to this book every chance I had.
The story takes off, is plausible and very interesting, about a woman who loses her memory and can only retain one day's worth of information.
The ending is a little predictable and you can see the stitches sewing everything up.
But this is a wonderful listen-to, worth every minute.

Very good

Took a little while for me to get into it, but just when I thought maybe this is dull, it was all worth it. Sometimes the back story is necessary.

Interesting story - well-told

The story was engrossing and suspenseful, with a satisfying finish. I felt for the main character, Christine, and I was excited to see how she would adapt. The story developed believeably, and the ending didn't disappoint. Orlagh Cassidy did a great job of presenting the characters.

Couldn't put this book down!

This book was so good! I couldn't stop listening to it. I was shocked when I found out (about 3/4 of the way through) that the author was a man...he did such a great job writing from the perspective of a woman. Also, the way he wrote the book made me feel like I was in Christine's confused mind! Intriguing read! The narrator did a great job also.

Had me Guessing throughout

I have heard of this story line before; this of course is a new spin on the old story. I found myself trying to figure out the mystery immediately. I figured it out mostly within the first half of the book, but there were some twists. What grabbed me and kept me listening was hte narrator. What an excellent voice and so well paced. If you are as avid a mystery/thriller reader as I am, you might guess the evolving storyline, but don't be totally sure of yourself. There are surprises. The biggest being the discovery of this incredible narrator!

what a good novel. It is definitely a thriller though at times it made me wonder if it was just me wanting it to be. could not let go until it was over. the ending was not my favorite but still enjoyed the book very much. Definitely recommend.

A psychological journey through the maze

Where does Before I Go to Sleep rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the more intriguing books I have read so far.

What other book might you compare Before I Go to Sleep to and why?

Very reminiscent of the 2000, neo-noir psychological thriller, Memento, about a man with a mental inability to store memories, so he writes notes to himself..

Have you listened to any of Orlagh Cassidy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. Orlagh Cassidy is outstanding.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Well, at least in two settings.

Any additional comments?

Watson offered an entertaining tale full of intrigue and surprises, flawed only by the author’s over confidence in the reader’s desire to suspend ones’ imagination. The catalysts in solving the mystery, the psychiatrist and the use of cell phone (that never need charging) were paramount to solving the mystery, yet these dramatic technical details lacked credibility.
Nevertheless, the story, pace and dramatic tension my attention to the end. The narrator, Orlach Cassidy did an outstanding job of delivering the drama. If you liked the 2000, neo-noir psychological thriller, Memento, about a man with a mental inability to store memories, you will love this novel.

Wow. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This has got to be one of the best "reads" - and certainly one of the top three narrations - I've ever experienced.

The premise is fascinating, and the author really does an outstanding job of unfolding everything - all the events - with truly gripping suspense. There are layers upon layers, and I was hooked, listening well into the night.

The narrator herself is an integral component of the experience. I almost always remain detached from the reading, no matter how good, imagining instead the words on the page, and how I would have interpreted them differently. However, in this case I lwas lost in in the spellbinding narration - truly a theatrical performance that lifted me out of my environment and into the story.

Cannot recommend highly enough for those who love suspense and intrigue, well written and wrapped in a unique premise.

👍🏼👍🏼

Knowing what this book was about from the start I was expecting predictable but to my surprise it was anything but. I found myself rooting for her memory to come back everyday to catch the person that was deceiving her. Loved the fact that this book kept me guessing til the very end......2 👍🏼‘S up
