How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer's outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career - until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it's a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she's always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott - but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn't come easy. The woman he finds isn't the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamor, a life that includes him?

It Just Gets Better!

Any additional comments?

Book 1 was GREAT. Book 2 is simply AMAZING! The development of characters, the story of tragedy and how life's events shape us, and how the true self is always there to be discovered, no matter how hardened we become by hardships of life. A wonderful Love story , with interesting twists. Loved it!

Great story, partial bad narration

How could the performance have been better?

Robert Black does all the narration from Jack's pov. This is really annoying because he does Laurelyn's voice also, but only on Jack's pov. It sounds like a man trying to sound like a woman. Horrible! It ruins the story. He talks so fast I had to slow it down on the app on my phone, then when Bunny would read from Laurelyn's pov, I would have to change the speed back. Bunny did a great job on both the Jack and LaureIyn voices. I don't know why they didn't have Robert read all of Jack's parts and Bunny read all of Laurelyn's parts if they wanted to have dual narrators. It's really annoying to have the same character read by two different people. You can tell what pov they're narrating because it tells you before they start. The dual narrator's weren't necessary and really ruined this for me. I would recommend reading this over listening to it.

Great story but narration has a lot to be desired.

Enjoyable

This was the second part of a three part series. I enjoyed the story a little predictable and similar to other books written in the same manner. The narration I have to say the Aussie accent was atrocious OMG, just read it in an ordinary voice which I’m sure Robert could do. The American accent was a little on the strong side for my taste. All in all, a good, romantic sexy feel good story.

Horrible female narrator

Female narrator ruined book for me. i loved the story and characters but the narrator needs work on her diction. she placed so much emphasis on words ending in "D", the sounded like the letter "T". And!!!!!, she overly pronounced words with the letter "T". it was so bad, it ruined the mood . not just sexy time mood, any mood the author was trying to portray in the story. i wont be listening to the third installment if she is narrating. everything else about the book, including the male narrator gets 5 stars.

Is it finished?

I think it may be finished up but I'm not really sure due to one unanswered question. I'd like to think it is because it would be a good place to stop the story. I do think the author should of wrapped up all of the loose ends. I wasn't as good as the first book. I think allot of these books could be really good if they were just one book.Everything doesn't have to be a trilogy.

"How do you move on when he’s every song you sing"

First of all you must read the first book in the series - Beauty from Pain - this is not a stand alone book. I'm not sure if it is rare that a sequel is better than the first, but I thought this one was. I loved every part of this story. It was a nice mixture of both of their perspectives, humor, drama, and steamy Hot Romance. I very much enjoyed the double narration by Robert Black and Bunny Warren. This book, unlike the first, did not have a cliffhanger ending so fingers crossed there is the possibility of more to come and that would make me a very happy reader.

Excellent Sequel/Ending to a Great Romantic Story!

The "Love Story" aspect of the book was great; however, Robert Black's portrayal of Laurelyn's voice was awful. Again, it sounds nasally. The emotional rollercoaster that the two lead characters go through is truly touching.

I truly recommend this book. I do suggest reading "Beauty from Pain" first to get the entire experience.

Good!

What I liked most about book 2 was Jack's obvious love for Laurelyn. He's finally realized she is the one for him and he showed it through the whole book. I also liked that once these two found their ways back to each other we got some good qualify couple time. Now I'm sure I will get flayed for this, but I think this could have used just a little bit less sex in book 2. I know. Crazy that I would say that because their connection was extremely hot. But it was a lot...like a lot, a lot. lol
