Publisher's summary

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Critic reviews

" Beautiful Disaster is insanely addictive. Beautifully sexy, beautifully intense, and beautifully perfect. Jamie McGuire has written a damn good book." (Jessica Park, author of the New York Times best seller Flat-Out Love)

Weird vibes, meh book

Overall plot isn’t terrible. Main guy character has lots of red flag abusive behavior. I kept thinking Pigeon would leave him for good, but he always manipulated his way back into her life. A minor character points out it’s unhealthy at some point leading one to believe she will leave him for good, but she never gets too far. He stalks her quite often and is very territorial of her as if she isn’t a person at all. It’s a meh book over all

Great Storyline

I enjoyed the book! Abby drove me crazy at times because she knew she had feelings for him. In my opinion she over exaggerated her whole father situation. Yes he was terrible but it just wasn’t as bad as she made it seem. There situation was not as toxic as I thought it would be. It was Abby being stubborn and not admitting her true feelings. I do hate how she was stringing Parker along when she knew her true feelings.

whiney overly emotional teens

Started with a okay storyline..... then they just became annoying. Constantly getting in over exaggerated fights. They are supposed to be presented as freshman in college, but act more like 16 year olds in high school. Storyline opens itself to go multiple directions yet always choosing the typical teen with to many emotional issues and makes extra dramatic decisions.

I've got whiplash from this book.

If you're looking for a relationship much like twilight with a bit of sex tossed in, this is your jam. If a constant back and forth, hot and cold, I love them/I hate them, pokes your last nerve, don't bother.

I won't be finishing Travis and Abby's story because I need to recover from the constant whiplash they have me. The back and forth just proves their immaturity and need for the other to make themselves whole instead of being the one who makes themselves whole and have a healthy relationship together. Travis is manipulative to get Abby to do things he wants and Abby has no experience in communication. If this was real life, they'd be doomed.

Disappointing Juvenile train wreck

The MC is called pigeon by her love interest.
The storyline was all over the place and the premise unrealistic. Several times the side characters names were mixed together and it made it confusing to follow. I found a boyfriend to be extremely abusive.... lots of trigger warnings.... i’ve read birthday girl I’ve read Penelope Douglas and I’ve enjoyed many other authors books revolving around the same common theme but this book was not well written do not waste your credit on it.... I wish I hadn’t
