Thanks to Aunt Dimity, Lori's life has taken on fairy-tale proportions: She's financially set for life and happily married...or so she thinks. When Lori's plans for a second honeymoon to England with her workaholic husband fall through, she begrudgingly takes along her father-in-law who promptly disappears, leaving behind a mysterious note. Inspired and guided by the ghost of Aunt Dimity and her inimitable blue journal, Lori's search for the elderly gentleman turns into a harrowing mission to uncover a centuries-old family secret complicated by mistaken identities, falsified deeds, family feuds, and Lori's unseemly attraction to her husband's beguiling English cousin. In a delightful chase that takes her all over the English countryside, Lori discovers the true meaning of marital bliss, and Nancy Atherton's fans, new and old, will savor a masterpiece of old-fashioned fun.

    "Couldn't listen to the narrator"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    No one

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I didn't get very far, the narrator was so bad that I gave up.

What didn’t you like about Teri Clark Linden’s performance?

Her voice and inflection was so irritating that I had to stop listening.

"Please, please, please- find a different narrator!"
What did you like about this audiobook?

    Charming series of stories.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

I've read them all in book form, and thought I'd enjoy listening to them. However, the narrator is so terrible that I couldn't listen to them without cringing. I finally upped the speed to 2.5, and then she was barely tolerable. She reads like a beginning reader or speech student- e-nun-c-at-ing, mispronouncing, and emphasizing words that were unimportant in the phrase. Ugh! What a disservice to this series.

Do you have any additional comments?

Again, PLEASE reissue with a different narrator.

"How did this narrator get hired?"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story is interesting, however with nearly 300 titles in my Audible library this is the first time I have encountered a narrator that is so bad I will be submitting for a refund.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Sounds like a computer with a mild grasp of the English language and terrible

"Love the author, not the narrator"
What made the experience of listening to Aunt Dimity's Good Deed the most enjoyable?

The characters are wonderful, well developed and fun. Fabulous series!

Would you be willing to try another one of Teri Clark Linden’s performances?

If you put the speed to 1.25 in Audible, you can listen to it with less discomfort.

    Story
    "Aunt Dimity at last!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Aunt Dimity's Good Deed to be better than the print version?

I enjoy having the story read to me; so I would have to say the audio edition is slightly better than the print version

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nell Harris hands down. I like Nell because she is such a curious mixture of wisdom and childlike wonder.

What aspect of Teri Clark Linden’s performance would you have changed?

Teri's performance improves with each book. Her performances would be better if she would read at a more natural pace and not put so much emphasis on enunciation.

If you could take any character from Aunt Dimity's Good Deed out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Lori because I think I would be comfortable with her.

    Any additional comments?

I am thrilled that Audible is offering the Aunt Dimity series at long last. I love these books because they are full of light instead of darkness and the characters are, for the most part, ordinary folks that I can relate to and best of all, wrongs are righted. Please, please record all of the books in the series.
